A good friend of mine is an admissions specialist at MIT. She told me that they don't just look for brains when looking through apps, they specifically look for people who have demonstrated that they are already using their abilities to help people. If the choice came down to someone with perfect grades and SAT scores but nothing else to show for it versus someone with lower grades and scores who has done a ton of community service projects and volunteer work, especially if it involves engineering, they'll admit the one with lower scores.
Some of the smartest people I know didn't get into MIT (or any of the big name science and engineering colleges really) because they do jack shit with their lives other than coding and playing video games.
And this being /g/ and have nothing to show off, I'm willing to bet you have little to no experience in that department.

He used software called "sckmidkfgt". Pretty much it was all pre built for him. He just stuck it in a breifcase and threw it in the front of the car. Also some nice m2f connector action on dat Acura.

anyways first of all a go kart is a terrible starting platform, they're designed to rev high and generally built to be mechanical for people. no matter how good your software is it's going to sound like a weedwhacker
an electric RC car is a better place to start, you can get one with a wide enough footprint to get a camera up about 4-5 which would be very necessary but even with a car 6+ feet in the air is ideal
second the software, there is none available. it won't be as simple as telling the software through it's nice and pretty gui that hey we drive on the right here's the servo for the gas and here's the one with the steering rack go wild
and writing it yourself is ludicrously difficult, i wrote a piece of software a few years back that tracked the center line and set the vehicle in the proper place about four feet to the right of it. it could barely follow a line in the road, let alone handle corners or anything like that
other people have already done this way better than you could
get a better idea
The car that he is using has lane assist built in, which is the only thing demonstrated in the video.
He's basically modding the built in software with some neural networks.
