Sennheiser HD-600

Schiit audio Asgard 2
sounds pretty great.
care to share yours ?
AKG K550 with a Realtek DAC/AMP for excellent listening to Youtube music videos.
Shure SE535 and an A&K Jr. because I'm a poorfag.

>Shure SE535
im looking for some new earbuds since i cant take the hd600's anywhere, would you personally recommend these??
>>51962737
Yes. They're amazing. I'd reccomend them without hesitation.
Isolation is out of his world. I use the London Underground and can barely hear the outside world without having to set the music to eat shattering levels.
Unless your source has decent power output they sound extremely dark.
The bass very tight and is recessed behind the mids. Sub bass isn't very powerful but is definitely there.

Gr8 succes.
They're not as flat as I want to, but their detail is amazing

Sennheiser HD 518s purchased used for $40 with no amp because I'm not an audiophile faggot who, in his mind thinks he's better because he thinks he can notice things more clearly in his sound.
God you faggots triggered me so hard
>>51963262
While I agree with you 100%, some headphones have high impedence and need an amp to function normally, and it really does make a difference
>>51963262
hey im not one of those guys.
if you dont have an amp for the 600's they sound crap, even someone without the 'audiophile ear' which i dispute even exists can tell the difference.
i just like headphones.
plus the 518's wouldn't benefit that much from a good amp anyway.
>>51963300
>>51963278
If you bought $500 headphones then "might as well get an amp because it makes my desk look cooler" you've already fucked up
>>51963322
i just explained why i got one.
stop trying so hard
>>51963322
Did you even read the fucking posts? The headphones literally have a high impedence, meaning the force required to push the sound part back as far as it's supposed to is higher because of its design and weight, therefore you need an amp for that extra amount of power. Some headphones are like this, some are not

At first the headphones sounded like shit compared to my old Beyers DT770 Pro, but it turned out if just wasn't used to the accuracy and precision. They sounded great and far superior after a week or so.

Daily reminder only children use headphones while us men have our own places where we blast our music on our $3000 systems.
Headphones for jogging? Don't make me laugh man-child, what a treadmill is for. Jogging is what Jermayne does when he steals your iphone.
>>51963422
stop trying to be doctor phil you faggot, i know i sound like a snobby audiophile right now but some people like different types of music, some are bassheads, some people think audiophile gear is a huge fucking waste of money and others cant listen to any other headphone because it sounds terrible in comparison. we all fit in one of these and you need to stop assuming everyone is the same you faggot.
i dont regret my purchase but it sounds like you have some experience in buying expensive headphones and not liking them, you're probably just mad.
i can genuinely tell a difference, i have no problem in admitting I've wasted money before so im not lying about the audiophile headphones, i bought shill SMS audio headphones and they just sound like overexaggerated bass and everything else is absolutely terrible, and they were $300 dollars, worst investment ever.
>>51963487
i have my own place with a $1500 system give or take, the bass shakes my windows.
grown up enough for you?
i like both.

>SE535

almost took the bait
The one Shure IEM I tried was the 215, and while it had godlike isolation and fit, it fell flat on its face with sound.
Bloated, forced mids, no treble.
>>51963262
>because I'm not an audiophile faggot who, in his mind thinks he's better because he thinks he can notice things more clearly in his sound.
Nice projection, faggot.
>>51963357
High impedance headphones need LESS power but more voltage to be driven loudly than low impedance headphones. Low impedance load is harder for the amplifier even though they are usually(generalizing a lot here) easier to drive loudly.
>>51963300
>if you dont have an amp for the 600's they sound crap
That's just flat out wrong.
>even someone without the 'audiophile ear' which i dispute even exists can tell the difference.
I'd love to see you blind test this with two sources, both level matched. Realtek ALC1150 vs O2 for example. As long as your source can provide enough voltage for comfortable listening volume, the HD 600s are a very easy load to drive and require nothing out of the ordinary.
>>51963357
>headphones literally have a high impedence, meaning the force required to push the sound part back as far as it's supposed to is higher because of its design and weight, therefore you need an amp for that extra amount of power
This is almost the complete opposite of how the physics work. Impedance is highest because the coil and driver are easiest to move at that frequency, a mechanical resonance.
>>51962737
I have them and the HD 650s. SE535s are comfy but have a really dark sound signature. The sound is alright but I like much more accurate reproduction. They are very sensitive and will reveal any noise coming from your source.

I just got mdr V6s as back up for my fairly new mdr 7506s. I know they have little differences but V6 was 50 bucks on black friday so I went for it. I was curious but I haven't tried them on yet.
I use 7506s with a vintage german Hi Fi amplifier to listen to some LP music or I sometimes record my guitar silently with a guitar processor. it works great for both.
I'm not paying very much after a certain standard is met when I purchase something.
>>51963662
>Complain about IEMs sounding dark. Has dark as night Sennheisers and calls them more accurate.
>>51966466
SE535 is considerably darker and less accurate than HD 650.
HD 558s foam removed. Nothin for Amp DAC.
Any good reccomendations for EDM music listening? I was thinking HD650, but any good reccomendations would be nice. DAC and AMP reccomendations too would be awesome.
>>51965702
>implying I was comparing
All I'm saying is that Shure IEMs are either shit or gloriously overpriced for what they are worth. You'd be better off with some other IEM.
>>51966698
I'll concede that they might be darker due to the nature of balanced armature, but they were in no way more accurate.
Got a few, newest to oldest
Sennheiser HD 650
Beyerdynamic DT 990 Pro
Sony MDR XB-500
Sennheiser HD 595

Schiit audio Magni 2 uber
Schiit audio Modi 2
I use a pair of Shure SE535 and my Xperia Z3.
Can't really afford any amp or anything cause I'm poor.
I bought an SRS-3170. It's my first stax system and I'm blown away by it. They're so clear, neutral and undistorted. It's just an objective representation of the recording. Will take a pic later.
>>51966932
Nice shitposting. That's a raw graph of the SE535 and a smoothed DF equalized graph for the HD 650. I have both. BA drivers what? You see the FR, you see that HD 650 is more accurate. It's not even up to debate. Are you the sad individual who ruins every /hpg/ with this crap?
>>51966932
>>51967476
Another.
Not the other anon but you're both full of shit. Those curves don't mean much other than how close those headphones come to an "ideal" compensation curve. The Shures are just as accurate up to the limitations of their driver. The HD650s just have extended range due to their drivers. Doesn't make them more accurate and if anything they are darker.
The HD650s are a bloated bassy mess. They lack any real detail because of this.
Both of you need to shut the fuck up and just enjoy what you have without throwing an autistic tantrum in a Chinese cartoon image board.
>>51967793
It's like you don't understand what that "ideal response" is supposed to be and can't read graphs. Shure is clearly darker and less accurate.
I'm poor. Don't make fun of me.
>>51963379
I've always wanted a set of Beyers. Do the 600 ohm versions sound better? what are you thoughts on the brand?

Thank you.
I have some cheap Phillips wireless that uses FM. sound quality is shit, but it was cheap. and i don't have to worry about wires. works far away
>>51968020
"Ideal" changes depending on the source. It's why goldenears and headroom have different compensation curves.
>It's like you don't know why quotation marks were used.
I think I'm going to get the Oppo PM-3 headphones. Anyone on /g/ have experience with these?
My current headphones were £18. They're comfy and sound great. I do worry about the thin cord sometimes, so I wish it were detachable... but they've lasted years without issues, so I'm probably overthinking it.
My computer speakers also have a headphone port, so I just connect them to that. Drives them very loud if needed, no need for a dedicated amp.
Are the ATH-M50x nothing but a meme or are they actually a good choice for <$150? I just want something comfy and with good sound quality, I mostly listen to bassy music so if they're a bit colored in that regard that's fine.
>>51963723
Fuck off. If you feel the need to post selfies on le 4chan you should kill yourself.
>le u mad bro!!!!

>>51965702
SE535 is not Shure's flagship IEM
>>51968398
I know you poorfags like to pretend that nice things are a scam
Maybe it will make you feel better to know I got rid of them because they had a cable problem, because they let in too much ambient noise, and because I wanted something that I could use both at home and at work without needing a goddamm amplifier.
So I gave it to my mom, with the amp. She used it for a week and then went back to listening on her shitty laptop speakers.
You'd think you'd be happy about this but then you'd remember that I make more than you and can buy whatever I want, and little things like this mean very little to me. So you'll post from your Patrick82 folder and repeat it again: nice things are a scam.
Pic related, I saved you some time on your reaction image.
fiio e9 and sennheiser 650's. perfect for me, I've had it for about 2 years now and the metal construction of the 650's is way better than plastic ones I've had in the past. my 555's cracked after a few years. I can see this setup lasting me 10 years at least, the amp will probably last a lifetime.

go for it the extra money is better off in your pocket, not a fan of the hd700 would rather the 650 over it but i personally prefer the 600 over both

It isn't about making more money than me anon. I live comfortably and travel often enough. It's about minimum wage workers and kids getting memed into buying things out of what their budget should be and feeling like they have better sound. If you drive a Bentley to work where you sit in a comfortable chair and listen to music, filling in exel sheets all day then by all means, listen to it however you feel sounds best.
