Old revision (2014 and earlier) had click latency. Any Zowie with white or red logo is perfect. Best mice on market.

The original click latency is pretty fucking bad desu. It's well over a frame of input lag at like 20-30ms which may not sound like much but when 144Hz monitors can draw one frame in 6.9ms it can actually fuck you in games like CS:GO.
>>
>>51966262
CSGO is still only 64 tick. It can't.
>>
Hey fag!

An expensive mouse isn't going to improve your k/d ratio, you fat fuck. You'll probably always suck at videogames no matter how much money you spend on garbage.
You should probably kill yourself.
>>
>>51966274
That's 15.6ms, still faster than the mouse can click, family. And, if you play on 128 tick servers like real buck niggas do, the difference is even worse

Most prefer omrons because they're easier to spam. Others like the old FKs specifically because of their heavier actuation. Due to its shell, all FKs have a much heavier click than other mice regardless of switch. The switch has nothing to do with click latency though; this is a firmware problem.

Sure, old stuff may have better longevity but some of us are ready to give some up in order for performance and convenient features.

For example, a bicycle may still work fine after like 50 years but most people would still prefer a car anyway, even if it needs to be replaced after X years.
>>
>>51979243
That analogy was awful.
>>
>>51966301
Actually when I switched from a laser wireless logitech to an optical cabled zowie I improved a ton.
>>
>>51979279
Perhaps, but it gets the point through. For example I value being able to change settings on-the-fly and saving it to my mouse's own memory so I can bring its settings with me if I need to use it with my laptop. I also like the extra buttons for easier navigation and macros.

These are just some of the reasons that made me upgrade from my previous mouse that was (and still is) fully functional.

>>
>>51979679
You should be able to tell manufacturing date from the model/serial number or something on the mouse itself or the box it came in.
But if you have to check, you probably don't need to know. 10 or 20 ms latency won't make a difference for browsing 4chan.

it looks to be to do with this
http://cdn.overclock.net/c/cd/cd43a575_button_latency_testing_overall_141207.png
which was done by electronically triggering the switches

firmware seems like it could play a big part (for the deathadder 3g it had a variance of 7ms depending on which firmware you used)

unfortunately replicating such a test is very difficult, as you don't know what their exact setup was, so even if you test a mouse as 10ms, it might be equivalent to 0 or 20ms on their chart

my recommendation would be to use some human reaction testing software and alternate two different mice over a large number of trials and see if one has a real-world benefit or handicap

It was only like 5 ms slower on average compared to the g300 which is supposedly some kind of baseline. Doesn't seem too bad.
Unless you're playing FPS at a competitive level where the prize pool is six figures or higher, it probably won't make a difference.
>>
>>51980072
and they improved it by what? 8ms?

the old one is only 8ms slower, compared to the new ones.. doesent seem to bad

>>

>>51972289
You'll still have to deal with a lot less latency that your average opponent:
>20ms mouse

>DSL

That's what, 60ms more than you? Add an artificial 60ms to your game, and tell me you don't notice.
>>

You're retarded, that's not how it works.
What it tell you is how long the pixels on the display need to change colour.
If you have a 60Hz display with 4ms response time, your display will show shifting colours for 4ms, and the accurate image for 12 ms (response time varies on what colour and how much it has to shift, so this is just averages), and if you have a 60Hz display with 1ms, it'll show the shifting of colours for 1ms, and the real image for 15ms, which leads to much higher clarity, and faster processing of the displayed information. Also, it arrives 3ms earlier.
>>
>>51980438
That's odd, last time I checked there were perfects in there. Anyway, don't buy a mouse which doesn't have a perfect sensor. Use other sources to double check the models you like.

The number of instances this isn't given by context is so small that adding 'computer' before mice to specify is preferable to extending the vocabulary. Increasing the complexity of a language while it doesn't carry an appropriate amount of additional information is not how language should develop.

Zowie just seems like the only brand available that has good performance and doesn't look riced to all hell.
Even if there is some gaymen tier mouse that supposedly has a more perfect sensor, I probably wouldn't get it…

You bought the "new" revision 3 weeks ago but as of like 2 weeks that is not new anymore.
There's an even newer revision now.

Just no. I'd prefer something that is ACTUALLY entirely black, not just turned off to give the illusion of being so.
And what about the freaking mesh on the sides? Probably looks shit with or without lights on.
>>
>refresh models will use omron switches
>but 16 step scroll wheels
Literally why? I was thinking of getting the new EC1-A, but having 16 step scroll wheels is a stupid decision. Many people who buy Zowie mice play CS:GO, and you use the scroll wheel to bhop.

I hope there's still time for Zowie to change their minds.

Why do people want their heartbeat to move the mouse?
I use 1800 here and I find it too sensitive sometimes.

You realize there is probably someone as stupid as you out there running 200 DPI and has the same to say about your 1800 right?

everyone's brain synapses fast enough you fucking idiot

Your brain alters your perception to compensate for things like consistent delays. If it doesn't, and you DO notice extremely short input delays on things you use every single day, then you have literal brain problems and should see a doctor. Luckily for you, you're probably just shitposting
>>
>>51980751
But I tried using 10000. It's almost impossible to make it stay still, unless you put some crazy deceleration.
I don't see why "gaming" mouses are advertised with that, it's literally impossible to aim. I doubt you will find any "pro player" which uses something so sensitive.
>>
The human brain has a 80ms delay, basically everything you see and think is current actually happened 80ms ago.

just saying in case people don't know
>>
>>51980776
And I'm sure someone would say "But I tried using 1800".

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1n8wdUELFNHc2zaxvOTWw-DOkNF44i1MXzjfuJmn6rFg/pub?output=html

Which is why it's fucking stupid for Razer and others to create 10000DPI mouse and advertise it as gaming mice.

Because there's never a situation where they need it.

I have OCD, and when I play games where you can place items, I need to be able to fine tune where the camera is facing to an unreasonable degree. When I did this with regular mice, the cameras did this "snapping" thing where the smallest possible incremental movement was too much. I'd spend tens of minutes just trying to get the camera in a spot that the cursor would snap to the point I wanted it to be in. Just so I could hang a virtual painting on the virtual wall of my virtual house.
>>
>>51980731
I use 4000, and it's just about right.
I can cruise left side to right on my dual WQHD setup without having to move the wrist.
I'm using MarkC mouse fix at 1-to-1 translation, meaning my mouse covers 4000 pixels for ever inch of movement. It's moderately difficult to hit a specific pixel, but hitting the X of a window is easy. If I need finer grained movement I just lower CPI.
>>
>>51980987
3" 360 master race
>>
>>51980845
>Most pro players don't even use it above 400.
This is because CSGO pros are a bunch of cargo cult retards that don't actually understand that CPI is and that they can use 800 dpi and exactly half of the in-game sensitivity to achieve the same effective sensitivity as before. They also limit themselves to playing 1280x720 on a 24" monitor instead of playing 1920x1080 or 2560x1440 on a 27" monitor for the same viewing distance with greater FOV. They're fucking stupid, straight up.
>>
>>51980845
>>51981285
>>51980987
From what I'm reading this is all based on some historical boogeyman whereby it was 'better' to play at 400cpi/2sens than 800cpi/1sens, and some vague things about 1.6/css having subtle negative effects below 1 in-game sensitivity.

I should try comparing the 6400/0.84375 I play at, and 400/13.5. Both should theoretically give me the same 3" 360. If anything would change, I'd expect the lower cpi to result in a larger minimum angle and perhaps to even skip pixels.

what's wrong with laser mice?
>>
>>51981570
They were an immature technology and acquired a particularly bad rep for inherent acceleration/negative acceleration/click jitter/tracking issues/sensor failure/low max speed/etc. etc.

There's probably some decent lasers on the market nowadays, but they don't perform perceptably better than optical, and likely still have issues.

>you want lower fov in csgo not higher you retard
No, what you want is effectively larger targets to hit on your monitor. A 27" monitor gives you the same effective size with 16:9 as 24" with 4:3 and you get the benefit of increased FOV. You are one stupid, ignorant nigger.
