150MB/s 1TB HDD vs 120GB 250MB/s SSD?

SSD every time. Even it's only SATA II it will still be much better from not having any seek latency. Back when I was a poorfag I still had a 120GB SSD in my Thinkpad X60.

There are 2TB ones with 7200rpm that get pretty close to that speed (130 MB/s)
OP you can use an ssd and get an adapter for a large hd in the optical bay
one's for the OS, swap, and (some) applications and one's for storing bulk data like all your chinese cartoons

If you are running windows and will be gaming/meme:ing/multimedia then get the HDD
If you are running Linux and won't be doing anything except work or web browsing then get the SSD
120GB is a waste of money in my opinion.
SSD. Lower latency is a big benefit.
