This isn't working
The motor does nothing when I put the batteries in and of course I've moved the switches around in every way
This is my first electronics project and if failed horribly
What do
Also the batteries feel really hot and they kind of look like they:re going to blow up
>>51953444
Cool clock, Ahmed. Why don't you come over the White House and show us how it works?
what the fuck were you trying to do?
>>51953507
It's a fucking kit for 13 year olds and I can't do it
>>51953528
you can't even optimize your jpegs either
>>51953528
nigga... it came with instructions.
>>51953444

You have a short. Since a motor's a coil of wire it could be through there and just not turning for some reason, or you could have positive hooked directly to negative somewhere. Trace them out.
Here's what really worries me, on the other side is the switch, you see all that gloss is actually solder so I think that's fucking things up
Also the soldering iron burnt my finger and it left a mark that doesn't look like it will go away
>>51953703
Yeah, that ain't gonna work. You know solder is an electrical connection, not just a mechanical one, right? You can't just connect all pins of a switch.
Your finger will be fine in a week or so.
>>51953703
Don't worry the mark will go away.
>>51953703
>that soldering
I hope you have some wick, you need to clean that shit up and try again.
>>51953703
Jesus man chill with the solder
>>51953874
That's so beautiful
How do you do it
>>51953936
Flux and appropriate quantities of solder I'd imagine.
>>51953968
>flux
>>51953936
Apply soldering iron to pin and to the pad to heat both of them.
Touch solder to pin and pad.
When it starts melting just keep feeding the solder into it until it has flowed around.
Remove solder.
Remove iron.

Why does a 2013 battery holder have 7 pins? What IC is hiding behind it?
>>51954122
It is a Tiny RTC I2C module.
>>51953444
this is what happens when noobs don't want to start out with lighting up an LED
>>51954358
I did
>>51954461
i just read the solder episode lol sorry didt realize it is your first solder
You'll do better next time!
>>51953936
it's not that good
>>51954829
This. Some of the joints don't have enough solder and are not capped properly.
>>51955801
Lies, they all have enough solder.
>>51955925
>>51956141
They're all good, solid connections and that's all that matters.
