I'm gonna buy a desktop at the store.
I wanna pay less than 2.5K and I want a high end computer. I don't know how to build a computer myself.
What kind of build should I buy?

Do. Not. Buy. From. CANADA COMPUTERS.
Seriously.
Find it anywhere else.
BUILD IT YOURSELF
If you really need help, I'd be willing to help over Skype or a preferred platform with avoip.
Spam /sqt/ until they give you a decent build for 2.4k, pay someone 100 quid to put it together.
>>51948390
Actually scratch what I said.
Buy the same parts for $1800 (http://pcpartpicker.com/p/gQx3Lk), pay someone $100 to build it, save $600.
>thinks any prebuilt from any store, even with a "discount" can be a good deal
Have fun wasting your money retard, make sure you post which one you bought so we can laugh at you later.

About $300 cheaper than assembling it yourself via pcpartpicker too.
Check our LanHAUS, they do custom builds.
They're a local business around me but they'll ship to anywhere in the US.
>>51948233
buying prebuilds is fine if you know what you are buying. make sure you don't get scammed on the PSU and SSD, the two most common parts that PC builders like to skimp on. Also make sure the graphics card isn't some budget one like a 750ti slapped in there to save money.
>>51948549
Price: CDN$ 2,436.75
>>51948652
It doesnt seem to come with a cooler I think. It doesnt mention one
and I dont know what case it is.
It doesnt specify what ssd it is. Or what models they are and what company made them
Efficient heat dissipation
The chassis design of the ASUS G11 incorporates up to eight air vents to facilitate air intake and heat dissipation. Large 5mm side vents are dedicated to cooling the CPU, while the front air intakes draws air into the chassis for effective thermal management so G11 stays cool even in the heat of battle.
>>51948673
thats what I mean, they never mention SSD's and shit like that because they always go with some cheap budget one like Intenso or some chink shit.
It almost definetely comes with all the needed coolers though, it certainly has a heatsink and probably has a back vent and a vent or two on top if its a gaming PC.

Most pre-builts that you find from stores are garbage. Some smaller companies build custom computers, and most will do it for fairly cheap.
Anon mentioned LanHAUS, there's a few others but they generally will do custom builds based around your budget.

If you ask, they'll probably ship to Canada. It's a small business and the guy who runs it is pretty reasonable.
Not, OP. But is it really that easy to build yourself? I need retard-proof easy, not /g/ easy.
I'm afraid that I'll break something, shock something with static, put too much paste, not have the right tools, etc.
Are there any prebuilt assembly kits, like IKEA, but a computer? Something with all the parts and tools and an instruction book?

you dont need to save everybody and explain stuff to them painfully while they keep whining
just tell them to look up a build and post it, no need to be pushy that they need to stop being disgrace to gender and realize how trivial this shit is... some people need to make lot of money cause they cant do stuff themselves, its natural

>>51948967

>>51948967
Dumb retard, just get the HP Envy, you aren't going to find a better deal than that without getting fucked. Even people who normally build their own PCs are buying it because it is such a good deal.
>>51948995
The problem is that they're in Canada.
>>51948967
The problem is with stores and listings from big retailers is that they hardly have any in-depth info into what you're buying.
My best suggestion is to just call LanHAUS yourself and get a quote from him. They'll go through all the components select and adjust them around your budget, sending you a full parts list for comparison before building.
I never trust store-bought computers. Hell, places like BestBuy don't even list what type of PSU is in their systems.
Up until now, I'd say build it yourself but I've gotten several units off this company for myself and some friends, the guy who runs the business has always done us right.
>>51948995

>>51948909
How often do static kills really happen though? I see it mentioned in every pc build video. Don't use rugs, use static gloves or leashes, don't use the vacuum cleaner to clean it and so on. I've been doing all of the above for years and never had an issue. The only precaution I take is touching a metal part of the case before touching anything else.
>>51949087
Honestly it would anything premade they try to fuck you as much as they can because they know that you wouldn't even know their target market is people with no technological bone in their body look at companies like Alienware every pleb see's them as oh shit they make the best computers but we know otherwise
>>51949167
I work in PC shop for 3+ years, some building and techsupport, some sysadmin work
never had static killed anything, but I do touch the nearby radiator before every build and the boss looked strange at me at first that its just horse shit
but then again, we are in eastern europe, I can imagine that local weather plays role as well... anyway when people in EU order stuff from the internet, they can return it without reason for 14 days, customer protection.. plus rma would cover it anyway. They cant prove it died shocked during assembly and not during packing or something
anyway, internet too the static precaution and run with it.. so /g/ annons who build 2 PCs in their life but do follow components reviews will grab for it like some huge thing...
>>51949167
It's just a precaution that you must take in order to prevent it from happening if you follow them it makes you almost 90% safe for that reason alone static kills are minimal because almost nobody building a computer is stupid to not do any research except for that 10% hell 5% of people who are too incompotent
>>51949210
>but then again, we are in eastern europe, I can imagine that local weather plays role as well
I heard that really dry weather can play a part. I'm also from EE (Romania) so it never really gets that way here.
>>51948909
> static electricity
> cause for concern
I had a rasp pi, posted it here sitting on top of an anti-static electricity bag while on the carpet and three people posted that I should worry about static electricity, the bag was upside down, and I shouldn't have it on the carpet in the first place.
Are people actually that worried about static electricity? Why? Out of all the computers I've dealt with, I haven't had an issue with static electricity. When I felt that there was a possibility of static electricity, I'd place my hand on the PSU and make contact with another metal object. I never understood the need for anti-static wrist band and thought it was unnecessary.
Am I alone?
If you go into canada computers, you pick the parts, and we build it for 75$. 95$ if you add a third party cooler. Comes with a 1 year parts and labor warranty for all hardware related problems.
I don't know why he said not to come here, but I would love to hear any reasons why we are bad.
AMA
>>51949299
It's just an over-abundance of caution
(that's not necessarily a bad thing)
You always want to take at least minimal measures (touching a large-ish metal object to ground yourself) simply because your body can honestly build up PLENTY of charge to damage the relatively sensitive parts in a computer
>>51949405
>$20 extra for mounting a cooler that's different than the stock cooler you would be mounting anyway
>$20 for literally no extra work
>>51949454
I didn't make the prices, the company did.
Also, third party coolers have a backplate, and it's the same cost for closed loop liquid coolers.
