Don't worry, Terry isn't all that talented actually. Assembly is really easy to learn if you forget most of the concepts you learned with higher level languages. You have 3 things to work with and they are all pretty easy to understand.
Terry made a compiler (not an impressive feat, anybody who's been programming for 10 years and knows ASM can make a compiler FFS), and wrote a flat memory kernel.
Wow so impressive, he studied the C64 OS after he reverse engineered it and rewrote it with a god theme.
Honestly the only cool thing he's done is Holy C and his IDE. The fact that you can draw images in the source code as both comments and actual useful information that gets compiled is fucking genius.
MenuetOS and BareMetal are more impressive feats than TempleOS, though.
