Here's the source code you've been asking for so much: https://vivaldi.com/source/ . Feel free to inspect line by line.

And here's where you can get the Beta 2, now with complete features, such as an extension manager (all popular extensions like uBlock Origin and Lastpass are working already): https://vivaldi.com/
>>
finally, vivaldi is a nice browser that just needed features.

Firefox is now BTFO

Well, all I can say is damn nice.
>>
>>51937567
At least it shouldn't use that slightly washed out red color. The red itself is terrible for it to take up a large space of the UI, furthermore this shade makes me think like I have dust over my monitor since it's ever so slightly washed out.

What is the license? The source being publicly available is nice, but I'd REALLY like it to be licensed under the GPL or something similar.

Downloaded it, turns out only 10% of it is really 'open-source', the rest is blob.

Then change it faggot. You can change the whole fucking interface with custom CSS if I recall, let alone the options in the menus

no faggot, that's not how this works.
>>

>>51937671
It decompressed into 2.8GB
>>
>>51936456
Kek, it is chromium under the hood filled with bloat .
>>
>>51937975
It literally is how it works when the browser's selling point is its customizability. Nobody cares about your special snowflake taste in aesthetics when you can easily customize the thing.
>>
>>51937975
That's exactly how this works when the source code is right there for you to see.
>>
>>51937962
Remove cm and install gentoo.
>>
>>51938033
Yeah let me go download a month old snapshot that's multiple gigs big just so i can recompile it with my ui i want.

Literally a shit browser.
>>
>>51937837
what do you mean?
>>
>>51938046
That's exactly the point.
>>
>>51938071
Using your logic I should also just go modify Firefox since I have its source code to be the UI i want.

Or even better Chrome since this shit browser is literally just layered ontop of it.
>>
>>51938090
That's correct. That's the very purpose of having source code. Without the source code, you're entitled to beg that the developer to help you but it's up to them to choose to help you. With the source code, you can get changes made at any time guaranteed.
>>
// [email protected] HACK while not having all the permission dialogs in

base::CommandLine::ForCurrentProcess()->AppendSwitchNoDup(
switches::kAlwaysAuthorizePlugins);
>>
>>51938090
You don't even need access to the source when the UI was made to be customized outside of that. All you need to do is fiddle with the CSS, a grade schooler could fucking do that.
>>
So is vivaldi /g/ approved now?
>>
>>51938275
Ignorant approved
>>
The browser is turning out to be real good. It's stable and the customization out of the box is really good. It's still pretty far from my tailored Pale Moon install, but it has way more shit by default than FF derivates so it's definitely on the right track.

Currently I'm most annoyed about how it selects the last visited tab instead of the right hand tab when closing a tab. Makes closing multiple tabs with ctrl-w fucking impossible. Also can't select from the address bar with mouse since the contents move when you activate it.
>>
>>51938402
It's literally a chromium mod.

All I want is a chrome based browser with the customization of Firefox
Firefox is the only browser that lets me do pic related but it runs like shit
>>
>>51938426
So? It's actually usable unlike chromium with zero customizability, candy UI and the retarded hamburger menu with 100 cluttered options fisted in there
>>
>>51938449
the customization is exactly why it runs like shit.
>>
>>51937377
is cuck still filtered?
>>
>>51938465
this desu senpai cuck
>>
>>51938449
I don't get people complaining about FF performance. It works just fine unless you're on a toaster. I'm actually using it on a cheap HP tablet I just bought and it works just as well as Edge there.

Some people say Pale Moon runs better for them than the new FF versions so that might help too. Plus even more customization.
>>
>>51938480
The pages constantly go blank for me and it freezes frequiently
>>
>>51938522
I've been having this issue a lot lately
>>
>>51937975
vivaldi is definitely a meme browser, but the same (UI changing-related things) are true of Firefox
>>
>>51938055
not open-source, basically.
>>
>>51938426
Fuck you, MORON. It only uses the Blink engine. It has no Chrome source at all, COCKSUCKER.
>>
>>51938576

also, he said chromium, not chrome

they're different (and both shit)
>>
>>51938576

hehehe
>>
>>51938576
How do chrome extensions work on it then?
>>
>>51936456
adblocking/js blocking when?
>>
>>51937322
Also known as the amount of memory a single Firefox tab uses
>>
Someone please try holding Ctrl+T for 5 seconds in Vivaldi and tell me if it freezes for 10 minutes.
>>
>>51939951
It hangs for about 2 minutes on my laptop.
>>
>>51939980
So it's still shit. I'll consider it when it can actually handle more than a handful of tabs.
>>
>>51939999
I'm not disagreeing with you, but a 'handful' of tabs isn't 5 seconds of holding ctrl + t. How many do you normally have open? Also, after it was done hanging it worked fine.
>>
>>51940021
Try doing that in firefox or chrome, they have no issues.

>>51940021
>How many do you normally have open?
50-200

>Also, after it was done hanging it worked fine.
Last time I tried it, closing a single tab while having ~100 open took a few seconds
>>
>>51937525
You're running Windows. Everything looks like fucking dogshit.
>>

I'll only give it a try when it has a imglikeOpera functionality or extension. (blocking/allowing image loading with regex list + ctrl+right click on image placeholder to load it)

I have a question about extensions.

Whenever i install a chrome plugin on vivaldi i dont get the plugin UI button. Such as ublock origin for example so i dont know how to configure the plugin if the UI button doesnt show up anywhere on the browser.

Also, whats the best equivalent to NoScript?
>>
>>51937075
No it is not
>>
>>51942307
>best noscript equivalent
I looked around and people recommended ScriptSafe. I haven't looked into how it works very much, but the UI seemed needlessly complicated.
>>
>>51937671
Does Stallman still use a Leemote? They're so cute, I've been meaning to grab one.
>>
>>51937621
The color changes according to the webpage. If it is red then the webpage has red as a main color. The ui just look like part of the page.
>>
Is there a way I can remove the 2 sets of close/minimize/maximize buttons for vivaldi?
>>
>>51942402
I mean one of the two sets, obviously.
