The problems with GIMP all stem from GTK. It's decent on Linux, barely passable on Windows (especially with nonstandard file picker windows), and Hexen: Beyond Dogshit in OSX.
Unfortunately, it's the only editor I know all the little quirks to. I'm too lazy to pirate and relearn Photoshop, and none of the alternatives have all of the features I'm looking for, especially for dealing with indexed palette images for Doom modding.
