I can't install windows on it, because the installation crashes when the driver part comes up. Linux works on it for some reason, though.
I also think the HDD is broken, too. So are the USB ports. Don't know if a headless server would work.

The OS wouldn't install if the HDD was broken. So you have a working HDD, a working processor, and hopefully a working ethernet port. That's all your need for a headless server.
