Rather fix bugs everyday than actually use your computer.

What fun is that? I like tinkering and fixing things
but i dont fix bugs everyday and I use arch as a main OS
>>51924181
I like to be productive so just use windows 10 as my main OS. When I want to tinker shit I boot into my linux from scratch install.
>>51924309
Anecdotal evidence.
>"My grandfather smoked and he lived to be 100"
>>51924403
Smoking objectively causes damage. Only if you don't know what you're doing does Arch actually break.
>>51924181
No, thanks.
pic related.
I used to enjoy Linux. I legitimately enjoy Unix CLI muuch more than winblows, but the fact that there's always SOMETHING that doesn't work turns me away from Linux. I'm sick of fixing things.

>I like to be productive so just use windows 10 as my main OS
I work for a living so I use Linux.
2/10 you tried
>>51925148
Why do you like arch so much? Why not just use mint like a normal human being?
>>51925200
you're doing even worse, how can you be such a failure man, step up
It took forver to get setup, but I've not had this problem. (I run stable in case that's relevant?)
>>51925223
haha, they're too easy man
>>51925251
Took me 1 night to do a full install.
Took me 2 days to do a custim setup.
But I have a decent amount about linux.
why not buy a mac like any high class men out there?
I know this is anecdotal evidence, but I run arch on my main pc and xubuntu on my laptop, and fucking xubuntu has more weird breakage (thunar crashing when copy pasting files as an example) than my arch install. Only trouble I had was when a new x update broke lightdm and I had to roll back. The other thing is that, when it comes to arch whatever is the problem there is a thread for it pretty much. Compared to ubuntu forums where you find a million threads with no fucking answers instead.

nice try Prajeet, 1ct was deposited to your bing rewards account
>>51925339
You have a decent amount of what?
Knowledge? Distro CDs? Books? Magazines?
>>51925619
he meant "of internets"
>>51925619
*experience, sorry
>>51925570
xubuntu is a whole system, including lineks inside. linux is just a kernel.
get educated trump supporter
>>51925909
fuck off gnutard
>>51924181
But they do use the computer to fix the bugs, anon.
>>51924419
I remember a few years ago when Arch started changing it's default directory layout every few days, literally every update would break your OS no matter how well you configured your shit.
I was an arch fanboy up until that point.
>>51924739
Switch to freebsd become a tru unix nigga senpai
>>51925339
lol it takes like 30min max to install
1 partition
2 mount and pacstrap
3 config shit
4 install your wm / de
5 done
>>51925909
thanks for the update, captain pedantry!
what minor semantic misstep will you save us from next??
>>51927243
>not generating fstab
Well, at least for me, Arch Linux is the perfect OS for my old 10 years old laptop (Pentium M 1.6GHz, 512MB RAM, 60GB HDD, etc). It took me two tries to install the whole system based on youtube videos (sorry /g/, I'm not that GNU\Linux pro). Then I've installed basic stuff, and it works perfectly now. In summary, it took one day to complete the initial installation and configuration.
It still has issues, but nothing major, and the most important things are working. It boots up in 20-25 seconds, and I can perfectly use it for the basic things, even though it's an old ass laptop.
I like Arch, but I'd never use it on my primary PC. I need something, which works well after the installation, and I don't really care if it's riced a bit too much. For now, Arch is too much for me, and I'd like to stay away from it, instead I'll use something else if I can.
