When is Firefox going to put TOR into the private browsing mode?

When is Firefox going to put TOR into the private browsing mode?
>>
for what reason?
>>
Why? Private browsing is safe enough already.
>>
>>51922272
How old are you?
>>
>>51922272
There's no point. Private browsing is good enough for most people. tor would fuck up people, it can make browsing difficult.
just use the tor browser.
>>
Does anyone know a plugin or anything for .onion sites on firefox?
>>
>>51924674
The tor butten, in the tor browser
>>
Why would it?
Private browsing is just to stop your browser collecting local data.
>>
>>51924701
Firefox != tor browser.
>>
>>51924848
just use the tor browser, it's been modified for better security
>>
>>51924926
No i can turn off javascript, adobe, and not save cookies my self thanks. I don't need a separate browser.
>>
>>51925219
>thinking these are the only differences in tbb from firefox
>>
>>51924848
I'm pretty sure the tor browser is just a modified version of firefox.
>>
>>51925219
It does a lot more thsn thst, but if you want to use your own browser setup, download command line tor and set up you browser to connect to a proxy.
localhost:9050

>>51925317

.onion support
>>
>>51925335
What do you mean? Can you not connect to hidden services from firefox?
>>
>>51925466
That is correct. Gives dns errors. Do you have a plugin for it or am i just needing an update?
>>
>>51925553
check the remote dns box in the proxxy menu in firefox
>>
>>51925590
Ahh okay thank you
>>
>>51925219
Or you can install proxifier or similar and force javascript & flash through tor too.
>>
>>51926177
Javascript goes through tor and is probably safe to use. there was at least one case that I know of where an exploit was able to unmask some tor users.

TOR is shit.
>>
>>51926276
Are there any better alternatives?
>>

Jesus christ
You're as wrong as that guy who said that google isn't an advertising company.
>>
>>51926302
I disable it when using tor, but it shouldn't be able demask you, if an exploit is used, it could leak out of proxifier
>>
>>51926287
look it up tor is a meme now i2p might be your next search.
>inb4 spoon feeding
>>
>>51926477
Can you access clearnet via i2p yet?
Last time I checked they had like 3 exit nodes, and 2 of them were offline.
>>
>>51922272
I think they must've abandonned that idea. Haven't heard any news about it in over a year, at least.

>>51922288
>safe enough
Exactly what does this mean? What does not saving browsing history have to do with safety? Private browsing as it exists today has nothing to do with privacy in any real sense, nor with security.
>>
>>51926515
Of course you can, and you have always been allowed to do so. The problem is the speed, too slow.

Actually it does. Recent versions of Firefox include the Disconnect filterlist which is enabled in Private Browsing mode, so you are less exposed to trackers and malvertising while using it.
With the just-released version 43 they also included a second filter list which blocks more aggressively (but may cause site breakage).

Of course, all of this (and more) can already be accomplished in either browsing mode by using something like uBlock Origin.
Still, it's a step in the right direction to bringing privacy to plebs.
>>
>>51928479
Oh sweet, didn't know that. Good to see they have the right idea. I was pretty hyped about the Tor proposal too. Hopefully it's in the works.

Friendly reminder that ALL Tor users are pedoscum.

IMO i2p is not secure enough and i just dont trust it
not sure why but the shit gives me weird vibes
>>
>>51928702
You missed the entire point of that post.
>>
>>51928702
Cause "it gives me bad vibes" isn't a valid argument.
>>
>>51922272
When it can make them more money as opposed to selling your information to advertisers.
>>
>>51928715
why not?
>>
>>51928723
Cause it just shows you don't now jack shit about how any of them work and are just scared of using anything else that isn't advertised by the media.
>>
>>51928715
I agree with this.

4chan doesn't give you weird 'vibes'?
>>
>>51928702
I worked on it. Quit project because Java. There's nothing wrong with I2P in general, save for that.

I2P is technically superior but operationally inferior to Tor, because Tor has a huge anonymity set to hide amongst. Bear in mind outproxies are not part of the original I2P design and make traffic confirmation roughly as hard/easy as Tor.

Fx probably should put Tor instead of "Private Browsing", that would be a huge boon and make it actually pretty meaningful.
>>
>>51928550
You're welcome. However, if you are savvy, I would recommend disabling the feature and instead use uBlock Origin.
With it, you can use the Disconnect filter and many more, and it gives you much more granular control.
For example, if you need to unbreak a web page you can simply whitelist a specific script or domain rather than disabling the feature entirely.

But like I said, it's great for plebs.

how do i download cp from tor safely?

Just open Google Images in Incognito Mode and search for it anon.
The fedora-wearing guy in the corner will hide your traces. :^)
>>
>>51929066
Make sure you scripts enables. Javascript makes an Internet firewall that hides you ip from the government
>>
>>51929066
If you wanna go FULL TINFOIL with Tor:
> configure Tor to strictly use entrance and exit nodes in countries with which your government doesn't have an extradition treaty
> under no circumstances enable JS or any plugins
> to deter browser config fingerprinting, use the latest Tor Browser with no additional addons

that's no what private browsing is for. installing torbutton and using tor through firefox is trivial if you really want that.
