In vitro fertilisation. In fact all infertility treatments.

Dynamic, user-driven content on the web (not the internet) was a mistake
And so were ads

It really impedes the "sit and think about it" process if you can just leap right in and start convincing yourself of the first retarded opinion you can come up with.

So, then you have people spending more time on a site, so you make ads, and start making information meant to keep them shitposting on your site (news comments, facebook page) so you can make more money

Before long a repository of information becomes a fucking circus

Let's turn the web back into a collection of remote freeform documents and isolate all this shit in its own little spot, ala BBSes

And then we can stop bloating "web" browsers with extensions like js, webgl, and webtrc that are meant for the "shitpost" web.

Not the pollutants that contribute to infertility?

>guys we need softer plastics
>why?
>cuz.
>>
>>51921616
>And so were ads
so how would you suggest that sites make internet-accessible services (not just websites, but we can start there and work our way to other stuff if that's easier) financially solvent?

would you go with an upfront cost? there are some services where that makes sense, but i wouldn't want to pay an entry fee just to kick the tires of every site i see, and i don't think anyone likes the micropayments that drive downloadable videogame content.

I'm not trying to string you up here; I just see a lot of people complain about shit like this but there's nothing substantive underneath their complaints.

YT wasn't the mistake, what google took and did with it was though
>>
>>51921412
Yes, it brought normalfags to the internet which ruined it
>>
>>51921838
It was a mistake from square one. because the one thing normies like more than gossiping (i.e., what facebook exists to let them do on the internet) is watching TV. Youtube did more than any other project to infest the internet with normies, and the marketing cretins that follow them.

That wasn't a technological mistake. That was a political mistake.

Some shithead politician insisted that the boosters be built at location X (I don't remember where) and shipped in on a barge.

The boosters didn't come up to the correct temperature, which led to the leak and explosion.

It was all due to "muh jobs in muh district" trumping engineering and intelligence.
>>
>>51921930
Technological disaster caused by a political blunder, but it still happened.
>>
>>51921616
That's the most retarded thing I've heard about the web.
You are massively bothered by people talking on the Internet because you don't like their opinions. So you want the Internet to stay in an undeveloped form which would make you more comfortable with your own autism.
I don't think you understand what the Internet is or why it developed this way.
It wasn't just an accident, this was bound to happen one way or another.
And it will progress towards more dynamicity. Content will get richer too.
The Internet is basically Hegel's spirit coming to its own. There will and there are major changes on the planet thanks to it being so dynamic.

>It wasn't just an accident
No it certainly wasn't. All technology is a means to an end, trust me if the powers that be told us what that end was it would have never been adopted on the scale it was. Now that it metaphorically can't be turned off remember, this was the future you chose!

The end is control.
>Hegel's spirit coming to its own
Hegel wrote gibberish and it was never meant to be understood except for the dialect which wasn't even original, that goes back to the Janus head. Again, the final synthesis is control, but it won't be left to you or me or any shitposter on this image board of inequity.

isn't that that toy that was banned for a choking hazard rather than the radioactive isotopes it came with? didn't it also come with phone numbers you could call up and order more radioactive junk?

nice meme.
contraceptives were a thing since ancient greece. they ate some nile herb to stop pregnancies, same idea, only now we have to synthetically make things to cause such effects because greeks and romans used up all of that plant so it became extinct.

that birth control wasn't really tech, it wasn't invented. it was a plant
modern birth control is technology tho, although i'd rather not begin an argument on whether or not birth control is moral or whatever if that's what you think i was trying to do, that would de-rail this thread pretty fast.
>>
>>51922564
morality or not, the advent of cheap readily available bc is humanities largest tech mistake

Yes.

>they are out to get you
I worked for a gubbermint a few years and can telI all these myths about conspiracies for total control are total BS. Literally most ppl working there are clerks trying to do their job, they have no secret agendas or grand plans to fuck with you personally.
I think the best way for people to get rid of this paranoid mentality about power is to work in a public institution for a few years. Then they'll understand nobody is waiting to prey on them or conspiring. The only real problem is corruption for personal ends. But other than that, don't flatter yourself nobody gives a shit about the future or your personal self, let alone plan carefully ahead for it.
