I can't afford a U3415W.

Convince me to buy it.
Will spend up to 1.2k$ on a monitor soon, not interested in 4K yet.
Just stick your monitor in a low oven, bend when warm enough,
you just saved yourself several hundred bucks.

It was sold for TVs as a way to improve viewing angles and create an illusion of increased size.
the second part wasn't true but the first was, there is less color changes based on viewing angles with a curved monitor. The is important on ultrawides

I have a 27" 2560x1440 screen. There is a significant focal difference between the center of the screen and the corners. If I went any wider with a flat screen, I'm pretty sure it would just be uncomfortable to use edge real estate, particularly at the corners.
Also, I think I'd want the bottom curved a bit tighter than the top. A bit like a cross section of a funnel, if you see what I mean.

You'd be a fool to spend that much on a monitor right now.
Just get a 2560x1440 or 1600, ideally with some kind of adaptive sync.
Currently waiting on a 2k 34" curved IPS G-sync monitor with more than 60hz. Til then I'll stick with my Swift.

Hope this comes out with at least 120hz
I bought a 24'' monitor for $80 last black friday. I am still using it and perfectly happy. Are my standards too low ?
