Half a year ago it was a lot faster, but now it freezes and laggs when I start a youtube video.

People have been complained about Firefox being slow and bloated for many years, but I've never witnessed anything like that. I tried Chrome for a while, but it wasn't faster at all.

I presume this is a real problem, but only for those with 512 MB RAM and a Pentium 4?

Just to name 1 thing. Mozilla has been doing EVERYTHING wrong lately, making one bad decision after another, feeding us lie after lie, stalling actual technical progress forever and ever while hiding it with fancy marketing sweettalk bullshit, etc.

Mozilla is nothing but a vain shell of what it once was now.

Vivaldi masterrace. I've just finished porting all my addons (I made a few myself) to chrome extensions and as soon as I can import my passwords from firefox to vivaldi I'm uninstalling shitfox forever. They've antagonized power users and taken idiotic normies' side once too often for me.

I don't understand the X browser is slow Y browser is faster meme. I've never had a browser run slow after Windows 95. Back then it didn't matter because I had a 56k modem that couldn't go any faster anyway. My pentium 4 could run multiple tabs in IE or FF with a couple youtube tabs thrown without a problem.

I think the only time I noticed my browser running slow was when I was running 8 instances of habbo hotel and closing the pool single handedly.

Now days I can't tell the difference between IE FF or Chrome as far as speed goes. I use FF because I'm used to the UI. I use IE when a website is designed so you can't use FF.

Don't use Chrome period, use Chromium. That said I like it and Firefox both, but prefer Firefox a little more. Mainly I use Chromium on OpenBSD, because in my experience it's version of Firefox is unstable and acts retarded.

For Linux at least (with the compatibility layer I believe it works on FreeBSD too), Chromium does have a better, more up to date version of Flash available, if that's important to you for some reason. However Google like everyone else is fed up with Adobe's bullshit, so Pepper-Flash is no longer being updated or maintained.

Usually I wouldn't call a gay person a faggot (because pointing out that an openly gay person is gay, as an insult is fucking retarded), unless they are actually acting like some kind of retarded faggit OP nigger, and then it's fair game.

Firefox has had telemetry for years. And like then, you can still disable it.
Same goes for all the other stuff you listed.

And you also mistakenly list Pocket and DRM Support (being able to watch Netflix and stuff) as something objectively bad.
You have to realize Firefox has other users than the autists on /g/. People actually WANT to be able to watch Netflix.

Browsers are ever-evolving and will eventually add something you don't like/want.
But the difference is Firefox lets you disable everything. Due to its open source nature and community there's always an easy fix.
