New retro guro thread.

dem feels
Finally a nice thread on /g/
Thanks OP.
If anyone happens to have a copy of AmigaWorld around and could scan in one of the full-page ads for GVP's 68030/68040 accelerator boards, I'd be eternally grateful.
I gave away my old Amiga and all my old magazines when I got rid of most of my possessions in 2009. I wish I'd kept one magazine. I used to spend hours poring over them and drooling at the sweet tech in those ads.
MOTHERFUCKING AMIGA

I have a feeling you're not supposed to expose yourself to this much nostalgia.
It's probably bad for your physic or something.
I hated the xp blue theme i'd change people's computers to the silver setting.

This too.
Still surprises me how they ditched so many years incremental user interface improvement with 8/10.

Faggot.
>>51914498
Totally. We've had decades of graphical computing improvements so that we can have better and more complex interfaces and they come out with something more archaic on Win8 than Win3.11
Hell, Windows 1 had a more visually stunning GUI than Windows 8

That's 98, not NT4. You can tell from the quick launch bar, not to mention the NT4 login screen was completely different. 9x security was non-existent.

I had several Pocket PCs over the years, they were great. Had a Doom port on my last one.

kek no, NT4 was actually secure, that utter afterthought shit is Win9x all the way
every time I get in a new shitbox from recycle and I see a password prompt I silently chuckle and/or cry to myself

if only there was a decent mac os 9 desktop environment clone for linux.
all we have is shitty new age tablet focused, resources galore, shit gnome 3, buggy as shit windows semi clone kde 4 / 5, and stuck in the relics of a bygone era that wasn't even that good, xfce.
then irrelevant shit ones like mate, cinnamon, unity, and lxde.
really, the state of linux desktop environments is horrendously pathetic. there was a time, a time that lasted ages, where linux actually had competitive, fully functional, great desktop environments.
