What PMP do you use, /g/? I have a rockboxed Clip Zip, but it doesn't make it through an 8 hour shift at work and I need a music player that can play music for 8-10 hours straight and micro SD support. I'd just use my phone, but it's an M7 and the battery drains insanely fast if I do anything on it.
Just plug the Clip into USB while you're listening, it's not like you're actually going to leave your desk in the next 40 years.
>>51895343
My job involves moving around the entire shift, no desks or nearby outlets to plug into for me.
SanDisk sports clip lasts around 25 hours just add a Mico SD if you don't have enough storage.
>>51895400
Alright, then you could get one of those cheap lipstick style chargers and plug in usb that way. For something like the Clip it should easily last the day.
Rejoice that you have an active job. It'll keep you healthier and fitter, so you can work the next 60 years.
>>51895400
What is it that you do for a living?
Phone
>>51895517
sounds like something transport drivers would do
I just use my phone, although I'm super disappointed the S6 doesnt have a removable storage option. But I stream the majority of my music anyways so it doesnt affect me as much as I thought it would
>>51895588
Nah, drivers would have power at hand with the cigarette lighters.
Probably outdoors work, farming, fishing, fucking, you know
Does anyone use one of these?
>PMP
>less than 8 hour battery
Seriously?

iPod Video 5.5
Rockbox
128gb Micro SDXC
>>51895667
Mine died a few months ago, the hard disk failed.
>>51895680
Probably a really dumb question, but why Rockbox over the firmware already on it?
>>51895671
It's probably years old at this point. The Clip+ came out in like 2009 and I'm still using it.
>>51895742
Original firmware isn't bad... it just lacks customization which is the main point of getting RB.
I use it mainly for EQ, Playlists capabilities, more file supports. There are features such as playlist buffering, audio effects like stereo width and a whole bunch of other settings you can mess around with.
Also being able to delete files inside the iPod is pretty useful too.
>>51895809
And you can use your device as a straight up external drive as well. No need to have iTunes or any of that bullshit running to sync in your files.
>>51895517
sounds like op is a warehouse manager or someshit
>>51895680
Can I watch movies on the rockbox firmware? Wht formats are supported?
>>51896239
Dude you can plan gba games on rockbox...I'd be pissed if it didn't play video
>>51896239
Yes but it's a separate plugin you can download.
-supports Vorbis without hassle
-at least 8 hours of juice while playing Vorbis
~would really like it to scrobble
-is reasonably priced: I have $100 here and plan on buying PortaPros too; if I'm paying over $50 for it and it can't scrobble I'd rather buy a cheaper thing and something else with the rest of the money
Anyone know of a media player that satisfies these requirements?
>>51895019
I'm using the M3 since I just got it a few days ago.
>>51898343
The M3 does everything want besides scrobbling for $55, so that's something to consider. Battery life is rated at 24 hours and so far that seems extremely accurate.
>>51895019
iPhone 6 64gig
apple puts in a Cirrus Logic 338S1201 DAC
>>51895019
Can't you just change the battery?
>>51898343
>Vorbis
>Portapros
How about a pair of converse to go with that flannel and those skinny jeans?
>>51899923
There's nothing wrong with Vorbis.
>>51895019
Sometimes I forget to turn off mine and I check it the next day and it is still playing, not sure how you run out of batteries so fast.
tfw still waiting for my fiio to come...
>>51895680
What theme lets you have kawaii wallpapers? Or did you roll your own?
>>51899609
Where did you get a beemer for $55?
>>51899923
What listening devices do you use when you go outside? (:^))
Waiting on that firmware update. The first time I buy a device on launch before reviews come in, and it has bugs. Nothing crippling, but I have no one to blame but myself.
7/10 so far.
>>51895019
Import a ruizu x02, they're cheap and their battery life is rated at 20-40 hours.
I find them to be a decent replacement for the clip since clips are getting more and more expensive due to sandisk not making them anymore except for shitty versions.
>>51901026
NIGGA U BANGIN?
>>51895019
It's 2015, not 2005, I use a phone like everyone else.
I'm using an ARCHOS 2 8gb for the moment, kinda showing its age at this stage though. Is the
KUBIK evo any good?
Redpill me on $20 chinese iPod Mini looking things that claim to support lossless audio. Any of them even worth shipping? Anyone able to corroborate >>51901237?
Also people here don't seem to like newer Sansa Clips, but the Sport seems to do what I want it to and I may just buy it.
>>51902816
FiiO are expensive but worth it.
Go find the thread on Head-fi about the Ruizu X02, they're dirt cheap and they're surprisingly excellent music players for the price. New Sansa clips are garbage, poor battery lives and shitty components so you cant rockbox them. It's a amazing how Sandisk made the perfect mp3 player and then proceeded to downgrade them with the spots and the clip zip.
Either grab the original clips or dont at all, it's not worth it.

Is the 6th gen any better than the 5th? My old ipod video broke a while ago
Who /xduoox2/
>>51899609
I hope I'll never have to buy another one of those again. Will I?
>>51904315
A Fiio M3? I don't know, but like I said there's a few bugs that need to be ironed out. They're working on a new firmware now that I hope addresses the issues. Even then, I'm enjoying the sound and build quality.
I ordered a Fiio X1, since they were like 60% for a while. Looked pretty good.
>>51905246
Nice, that's a steal. I hear it's a good player. I might grab one soon.
>>51900597
You can go into the backdrops folder in your rockbox folders and make a bmp file to select as your background. It's with the DetailedText theme that comes stock with Rockbox.
>>51902856
5.5 Was supposedly the best iPod DAC for a long time and the classic is a close tie.
>>51895019
Buy a nokia dumphone that takes microsd, that will get about twenty hours of playback, only fourty bucks too
>>51895019
I just got it today, pretty neat so far.
>>51907219
>FiiO
I got the X1 last year
Fucking amazing
>>51907389
Agreed, I've only listened for an hour so far and am in love. Love that you can skip track with the volume buttons when the screen is locked so now I can get a case that covers the front.
>>51907219
I love how their players come with a screen protector already installed along with a few spares. I wish there was a case available for the m3.
>>51907407
I saw that and tried to peel the little tag off and realized it was the applicator. It comes with a plastic case as well but I'm thinking of getting a nice leather case for it.
I also love these body stickers it comes with. 'Murica
