Windows 10 users don't have this problem.
Windows 10 is the best OS out there senpai
How is it not illegal for Microsoft to harass people like this?
Can't the EU do something about it?
>>51894578
>"reserve" your upgrade anon! you wouldn't want to miss out, would you?
>anon, win10 comes out tomorrow! better reserve your spot or you won't get your upgrade!
>okay very funny anon, but win10 has been out for a whole week! it's really time to upgrade!
>anon, why'd you remove the gwt update? don't worry, this new important update re-enabled it!
>it's been a whole month, look at all these reviews anon! we totally didn't pay them off, win10 is just so good!
>please upgrade anon, it's easy and free! i even downloaded the whole upgrade for you, all you have to do is install it!
>do you want to upgrade now or tonight?
MS confirmed assblasted to infinity over low upgrade numbers despite a full year of maximum shilling.
>>51894651
no its not
>>51894695
it will take years for microsoft to get their few billion dollar fine. legal mechanisms are very slow.
Can you blame them for being like thus considering how long they had to put up with Windows Xp. They seem to want to avoid that.
Also, god damn Windows. Faster to install a Linux distribution than it is getting Windows fucking 10 to install/patch and have everything ready from the start.
>choices
nah
>Install ios 9.2
>install now
> install tonight
>>51894770
Why would that be their problem? They didn't have to "put up with" XP, it was a user choice. MS gets to say "software X will be officially unsupported past Y date". Everything that happens after that is the user's problem and the user's responsibility.
I just want MS to fuck off and leave me with my comfy win7 install.
>>51894759
>no its not
yes it is
I've been using win 7 and I haven't gotten any prompts to upgrade whatsoever. Updates aren't hard to turn off.
>>51894770
>considering how long they had to put up with Windows Xp.
they extended the support themselves. twice, iirc.
partly because of the success of XP, partly because vista was such a POS.
yeah, stupid users.
Maybe this needs to be a wake up call to capitalism. It attempts to solve problems that never existed, creates new problems in the process, and is wasteful and ultimately an extremley inefficent way to do things (e.g planned obsolescence).
It wasnt broke. Dont fixit.
1. Backup
2. Install Windows 7
(Pirate with Daz if you don't have licence)
3. Disable Windows Update service
Also don't forget to sage Windows 10 threads
>>51894830
For 90% of average users, and 80% of the clients i do computer work for, they all thought they had to upgrade, and did.
Shits confusing for normies.
Anyone with Windows 7 Enterprise here? Did you get the Win10 shit?
>>51894578
Never going to leave win 7. M$ can suck my dick.
>>51894916
Nope. But if you're on a corporate network and they decide to push the upgrade, you will obviously get the upgrade.
>>51894732
>MS confirmed assblasted to infinity over low upgrade numbers despite a full year of maximum shilling.
http://news.investors.com/120115-783137-windows-10-migration-stalls-amid-slow-pc-sales-upgrades.htm
win 7 users just don't want to upgrade. kek
>>51895338
>Meanwhile, the percentage of Windows 8 PCs in use rose last month. Windows 8 accounted for 14% of PCs on the Internet in November, compared with 13.2% in October.
PFFHAHAH!
>>51895089
But if you're not, it won't? Even if you update weekly?
I might just switch to Enterprise if so, since Ultimate is pretty much the same.
>>51894578
>tech-savvy users will be quick to spot the 'X' button to simply close the window and move on
Oh! You're SO GOOD with computars!
>>51894695
Licensed, not owned, because of fucked up US law that serves corporations first and individuals second
But even in ron paul land you would have to sign a contract giving microsoft certain rights to your OS, even though paullanders would consider software on your disk your real property.
>>51894875
And this retard thinks capitalism, period, is at fault
Because communists would never declare your computer property of the people and force stalindows upgrades on you
>>51895732
up until the point MS decides to just trigger the upgrade without your confirmation, because fuck you, that's why.
>>51894695
"install an OS that respect your freedom"
>>51894875
Monopolies are bad. If Windows had proper competition (not just Macs/OSX) it wouldn't suck so much.
>>51894893
>Disable Windows Update service
Yeah, let's all gimp our systems and make them vulnerable!
>>51894875
>muh ebil capitalism
holy shit, fuck off and stop typing on that capitalist-made keyboard. This has nothing to do with capitalism, just MS being a bunch of fucking kikes.
>>51894770
yea literary like 15-20 minutes for a few gigs to get comfy on the hard drive
>>51894615
wait until Windows 11 comes out and installs itself while you're fapping to your loli
>>51894795
no, on iOS you can at least completely ignore it and it won't bother you.
> Sorce: me, running iOS 8.2
do you guys seriously believe microsoft is spying on you?
what the fuck would they want from a bunch of neckbeards?

you're right anon xDD

Is that rootkit really necessary? That balloon pop up is not that big of a deal.
>>51897023
Less vulnerable, to what? Just get noscript you pleb.
>>51894796
Because idiots continue to use that depreciated software and then when they get viruses they go to the press and say hurr durr Windows is unsecure and it hurts microsoft's public image.
It's getting cold, isn't it?
Windows Updatesâ„¢ have actual history of breaking systems.
It will not get better with M$ firing it's testers.
>>51897261
I thought Windows 10 users are the testers now? I mean come on goy, you got the product for FREE* the least you can do is put up with a few bugs here and there, maybe a few ads?
Did somebody say... Tonight?
>>51894874
that game
>>51897290
>uncheck and hide KB3035583
>never get message for upgrade
>install regular updates as usual
man that was hard, my chubby autistic fingers barely have stamina to uncheck an update. I better install Gentoo and compile everything myself just so I can tip my sweaty fedora.
>>51897368
yea remove the w10 icon from tray but install the telemetry updates goy
>>51897394
the data collection is only applicable to certain programs which rely on and M$ account. the complete item list on what they collect is basic diagnostic data of your hardware and any crash reports your system generates to fix those issues in future updates.
unlike you I actually read the description of updates before I bullshit people online.
>having gwx.exe installed
just get rid of the update and it will never bother you again
Wincuck 7 users are the new XP fags
>>51897394
>>51897420
the "user experience" telemetry is optional and can be switched off. unlike Apple and Google, M$ actually tells its users what it is collecting and for what purpose.
>>51897434
people will look back upon history and realize how we all got kucked by M$ due to our reliance on their OS. they are balls deep inside our asshole, our job and lifestyle depend on Windows/Office 365.
>>51897434
except W7 doesn't have glaring security flaws and will still receive support until the year 2020
>>51894732
My sides
>>51897023
>windows updates make system less vulnerable
retard
>>51897511
If you have 'only install important updates' then yes, security updates do make the system more secure, go figure
>>51894578
Just stick with XP bro. It's fast, has lots of compatibility, and it's secure if you aren't a fucking retard.
>>51897540
I only have licenses for 32-bit XP Home edition. My laptop has no drivers available for XP, only 8.1 (FUCK HP). When I tried booting into XP CD, it won't event detect my HDD.
I feel dead inside.
>>51897161
>you have 3 days to authenticate windows
>>51897023
obviously meant disable automatic updating, geez. use your brain.
http://pastebin.com/FqtBHQz8
They're really fucking desperate aren't they?
They should stop being such cunts and just leave people alone if they don't want to upgrade. Pushing their 10 shit down everybody's throat is massively bad rep.
Windows 10 aint that bad, in fact it's better for newer hardware
However forcing the upgrade like this is nuts. C'mon now microcock.
>>51895795
If that happens I hope thousands of people sue the shit out of Microsoft
>>51894695
>Can't the EU do something about it?
The Islamic Union won't do anything aside from the normal muh fines.
>>51898025
>sue microshit
>sorry brah it was in the EULA :^)
>>51894795
Have Android phone
>I'll get the update this year r...right?
Fuck it I'll just get it from XDA Indians
>>51895826
But OS maintainance and finding shitty freetard software isn't my hobby anon
Have I beat windows 10 guys?
> 2015
> fighting botnets and backdoored hardware
Enjoying muh Asus C201, ARMv7, ATH9K_HTC, libreboot + linux-libre + Debian. Blobless. Free of Microsoft and Intel. Join the future, anons.
that's why windows vista sp1 home ed is superior os
>>51898411
How is windows 7 sp1?
>>51897653
Thats actually not enough.
Around the time 10 came out and they started backporting their nonsense they poisoned the entire update module, it now wastes resources like a motherfucker, makes longwinded booty calls to trustedinstaller and is turning the svchost contaning the service into a fatty fat fat.
The only option was to disable it outright, it is allowed to once a month query for security updates only, I inspect the shit out of it now.
Also ran the gwx control panel or whatever to assist in this.
>>51894893
1. reformat
2. format ext4
3. install one of literally dozens of updated distros
4. never worry about microcock in your ass ever again
>havent updated in over 6 months
>disable telemetry and win10 shit
>try to update
>0 KB total, 0% complete
>1 hour later
>0 KB total, 0% complete

> "Upgrade" to 10 and 10 Pro on our hardware
> It's all good for the first few weeks.
> Updates come in, the first apps break.
> New updates, another few bites the dust.
> This goes on, now are missing business critical applications and we are virtualizing, RDPing, doing everything we can just to stay afloat.
> Have enough, roll back to 7 and 8.1 on all our personal and work computers
> Stupid update notification (GWP) instantly
> Windows 8.1 _warns you at install_! .. that you should upgrade
Luckily the script I found removed all traces of that stupid obtrusive update application.
I love Windows 7 and 8.1
No need to worry about updates, everything just works, no botnet.. it's fucking comfy.
