I'm tasked with a project and am in way over my head. How do I install a linux distro (centos) on several rack mounted machines at the same time? I am not the hardware/networking guy but I'm sure I could figure it out with proper guidance.
I'd assume this was easy, but I'm probably wrong. Any pointers? Worst case I'll install it manually on all of the machines, there are less than 20.

make a gold image
you are getting paid to do it right?
better pay us if you want us to consult.

Right way would be via PXE Boot and Hardware KVM
Tecnician Way would be install once and then clone all the other drives.
Retard way is taking 3 scripted USB's that install the system for you.
And the absolute mentaly damaged way to do it is to manually install the OS image on all Servers.

Eh, I'm an unpaid intern. But I completely get it if you don't want to help.

It's really that bad of an idea to do it manually with so little machines? I looked into/watched some videos on setting up pxe, but without a KVM it's almost as long a process as installing them all manually.

Don't be a Jew and get red hat and satellite.
just use windows deployment services, it can push out images to multiple machines at the same time completely automated
oh, right... good luck :^)

If it was up to me I would. I'm just a kid taking up a small internship with this place. No real say in any decisions on what we buy.
