All that incredibly expensive hardware and they jew out by giving her that $10 chair
This is why ameriburgers can't have nice things
>>
>>51888577
With the military procurement system such as it is they probably paid 1000$ for that chair

It doesn't even have an armrest :(

U.S. Air Force not Army.
>>
>>51889096
Computer chairs generally don't have armrests because they're not ergonomic. Does she look like she needs and office chair instead?
>>
>>51889216
She looks like she needs to sit on my dick instead of any phony chair

You just described every startup I've ever worked at.

But I did work for the federal government for a few years. They have a lot of old steel hardware like that sitting around. You'd be amazed at how comfortable some of those "primitive" looking chairs are.

As for armrests, since she's not likely perpetually in the sit-up-and-beg-keyboard-and-mouse posture, it's way less important. She was spending her time writing notes in front of her, reaching for knobs and dials, and making punched cards.

Pretty cute. Probably a lot smarter than those yoga pants wearing bimbos running around these days.

I think the point of OP's thread was for others to post cool old tech pics. But /g/ is too dumb to realize this.

The Living Computer Museum is a computer museum in Seattle, excellent exhibits and their goal is to have everything work to some extent. I hate it though in their tour they now have to take a moment and explain that women were operators because it was considered a woman's job and Muh wage gap. Those women were more talented than 90% of the modern woman work force.

My grandfather joined the Air Force in the 50s and ended up working with some early IBM machines. After leaving the military he quickly got a job with Varian.
He worked for Varian his entire life. He never went to college. He retired with a good pension.

Meanwhile in the future you're looking at thousands in debt from college expenses if you want a job that doesn't involve digging ditches or fixing clogged toilets.

Do they actually have a 5100? Neat.

I really want to go there, I'm kind of curious to see how they pull off the live exhibits without chucklefucks coming in and breaking everything.

No that's a 5100 from a personal owner. Seattle Retro Computing Society is a vintage computer club that meets once a month in Redmond. Google it, meetings depend on turnout but it's pretty good.

At the museum, all the expensive stuff is off limits, you get hands on some computers from the 80's and newer mostly.
