youtube-dl -f bestvideo+bestaudio/best https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e-ORhEE9VVg
This creates a (video+audio).mkv file
How do I make so I end up with an mp4 file?youtube-dl -f bestvideo+bestaudio/best --merge-output-format mp4 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e-ORhEE9VVg
This creates a 28 bytes .mp4 file and leaves me with a (video).webm and an (audio).m4a file.ftypisom isomiso2mp41
is written in that 28 bytes file
I use Windows btw and both youtube-dl.exe and ffmpeg.exe are in the same directory.
Please help :) I know this is not tech support but I could not find a proper answer on Google. At least tell me if it's possible what I want to do so I'll lurk more, if not I'll leave it as it is, my brain hurts already.

You obviously don't or you wouldn't be asking for tech support.
It doesn't suddenly start being allowed just because you acknowledge that it isn't allowed here.
use -F instead and you'll see a mp4 option to download.
then use that with -f(number)
Read the sticky and fuck off.

Thank you!youtube-dl -f 137+141 --merge-output-format mp4 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e-ORhEE9VVg
Worked. I didn't know webm and m4a can't be merged into mp4.

Well, probably others might see this and switch to free software now that they know (see here) how to use it.

Yes I like youtube-dl.
I like to also get music from youtube.
youtube-dl -x --audio-format mp3 https://blabla
Or sometimes just stream videos in vlc.
vlc $(youtube-dl -g https://blabla)

Use mkv faggot, it's a better format than mp4.
