Otherwise you should really consider using something better such as Vorbis, AAC or Opus. Opus is probably the best out of those three, bitrate for bitrate, but AAC will have the widest support. Vorbis and Opus are libre as well.

128kbps vbr is alright, also the quality/size ratio is pretty gud.
