What are some low level ways of fixing this?
USB drive shows up but I'm unable to format it or read it or mount it.
Tried gparted and a handful of other meme tools with no success. I run windows, linux, and osx, so you can recommend any tool for any of those operating systems.
Google has been of no help, just a bunch of retards saying to use diskpark or gparted which doesn't help for this type of problem as those programs cannot recognize it either.
/g/ pls, surely someone here has a job.
gparted
change format to msdos and partition it fat32

Try it on an other computer. If that doesn't work, then it's dead.
Try DISKPART on windows.

gparted doesnt detect it

diskpart doesnt detect it
The machines still know something is plugged in and the name though.

Could be physically defective.
did you try other ports?
did you back it up?
Sounds like It's Fucked to me.

Yes and no. I'm no longer worried about the data and just want to recover the flash drive. I realize they are cheap, but if this works it will help out in the future.

It is fucked, but some kind of low level firmware flash or some shit will fix it.

Use this OP, if it can see it will format it to the correct size.

An app called USBDeview is able to see the drive information. It also comes up on windows and linux but you cant mount it.

Doesn't detect it.
I found a site (flashdrive-repair.com) that makes me feel like I'm on the right track but now I'm still somewhat lost. I need some neckbeard firmware knowledge.
