I don't know why you would hate my PSU, since you can't even tell what it is from the pictures. But anyway, size != power. It's small yes, but it's also 750w 80 plus gold, so it's not like I'm short on power. I don't really know what you're trying to get at by saying you can have all your fans.
>>51871072
Not too bad for a first build anon. Good job!
does someone know if it's possible to install a H100 (or any dual fan rad) in the Coolermaster 690 II?
>>51872968
After some quick googling (something you shouldn't be afraid to do next time btw) I found the h100i should fit in the top spot in push or pull no problem, but NOT push/pull.
>>51873019
sorry, I should have been more specific.
I know the H100 and H100i will fit in the top but according to this the newer GTX uses different spacing for the fans and I'm not sure if my case is compatible with the new spacings
http://www.hardwarecanucks.com/forum/hardware-canucks-reviews/69218-corsair-hydro-h100i-gtx-h80i-gt-review-4.html
>be aware the radiator uses the newer 15mm fan spacing standard. Not all cases which have dual top mounted exhaust ports use this offset and the majority of older cases use 20mm spacing.
I can still hear my noctuas tbqh. They're quite, but I can still here them.
I thought they were supposed to be inaudible.
/g/ lied to me.
>>51873099
That's a simple thing to find out. Just measure the spacing between two adjacent mounting holes on your case. (For example, top right mounting hole of left fan, and top left mounting hole of right fan). Picture sorta related. 25mm spacing on a radiator.
It should be pretty obvious whether your spacing is 20mm or 15mm.

>>51873122
You're supposed to slow them down quite a lot. Being high quality fans they will still move a decent amount of air even at slow speeds.
I had to do the opposite to pic related. The large fan was making a whirring noise so I had to speed it up by 100 rpm or so. The wind noise is still pretty much inaudible to where I sit.
>>51873207
thanks man
I'm waiting on an HD 6970 to stick in the PCIe slot sometime this week coming to me for free from a friend. I'm either going to keep it or sell it after that, depending on what it takes to complete the rest of it. fans still have to be hooked up etc.
>>51873122

I can't hear mine, but that's because they're housed in a sound dampening case in a desk-cubbyhole-thingy.

>>51873679
already fixed that. there's a fan in front of the drive to keep it cool. there's a couple millimeters too little of room in behind the front bezel and the case steel to mount it there, so a compromise had to be made.
also can see a Socket AM2/3/+ to LGA775/1156 adapter there to mount an AMD heatsink on an Intel CPU. Messing around with the idea of setting that up as well... but I need to find the nylon pins that plug into it to lock it.
there's also a 9800GTX+ for fitment purposes since that'll be about the size of a 6970 if not a tad longer.
>>51873868
>>51873790
I didn't know they made adapters for that.
This is an AM3+ board. The stock AMD cooler was really loud and only 3-pin so it wouldn't slow down nicely. I cut the feet off an Intel fan and it fits over the heat sink pretty nicely. And it's PWM so it's very quiet.

>>51882602
First I've ever heard of it. It's a neat idea, but this one looks pretty cramped. If there were an ATX version with enough 3.5" bays I'd probably consider picking one up if the price was reasonable. And honestly I like cases that have a subdued, traditional exterior design. Nice solid color, no LEDs or creases that try to make your case look like a Ferrari.
>>51883415
That's exactly my point, it prioritises 5.25" bays over 3.5"/2.5" bays/mounting slots, which makes it less than desirable, and from what I remember was fairly cramped behind the motheboard space.

simply stating what Nvidia recommend. And 2 980tis would never draw 850 watt by themselves. Again, merely the nvidia recommended wattage for a whole system with 2x980tis.
>barely pull
If you took a look at the link I posted you'd see a single 980 ti drawing 233 watts at gaming load. 254 at synthetic benching. The comment was that 4 980tis wouldn't pull even close to 1kw with synthetic load. Yes. Yes they would as simple math would tell you.
this whole thing started because of the "synthetic" comment. When running synthetic tests, you're giving your system the go ahead to run full tilt balls to the wall. Meaning each card will pull as much as possible. Not including CPU. As for your dual gtx 590 setup, for normal gaming load you're fine. Running any benches would personally make me nervous as you're probably brushing the ceiling of your PSU. Not a problem if it is a good one.
>>51892148
it is apparent you've either A. Never watercooled. or B. Someone fooled you into thinking you need more than 1 pump. The only dual pump setups I've ever seen are redundancy setups where one pump would automatically kick on if the 1st pump drops below a certain gallons per minute.

>>51892480
neither. r9 390 and wait for something better to come along. With the fury X you're paying top dollar for a 4gb vram card (HBM or not it is still 4gb).
As a fan and user of AMD, I would recommend the 980ti > Fury X still. Fury X is just not "There" for me. Zero overclocking, 4gb vram, CLC cooling required just to run stock. I'm not one to usually say "hurr wait for next gen" but in this scenario, wait for next gen.
Personally I play at 1440 60hz with a single 390 no problem. If you're talking 80hz+ then you'd need more power.

800Mhz?
>>51892590
The only reason I bought Noctua for my server was for the warranty.
Can't beat 7 years, especially after several coolermasters, noiseblockers and yates falling after 3 years. Cheap as fuck and replaced anyway under under mutual agreements, I just wanted set and forget.
>>51864887
Love Noctua fans desu senpai
>>51892485
I broke 650 watts when I ran GTA V. Measured directly from UPS and not from aome shitty memesoftware.
Ive ran furmarka, burntests, 3dmarks and they. dont go higher
fucking psushills, buyers remorse on your overkill itwm yet?
>>51892945
>Yeah, how about an at the wall meter
Read the fucking replies. It was addressed an hour ago.
Goddamn I hate it when some faggot like this replies an hour later with the most obvious and predictable response when people already talked about it hours ago.
>>51893027
Your best buy ups isn't accurate
>>51893044
You keep believing on your shill memesoftware, I keep believing on server grade UPS and its measurement that was made to measure power draws far morr accurately.
How much does Corsair or nVidia pay you?
>>51893063
its apc smart ups 2200
>>51893084
>memesoftware
This is how you sound. You're trying too hard and it's really cringy.
Anyways, read up the reviews for the AXI series, it's accurate within .01%. I also get the same readings from my killawatt and ups. It's the second time I've said this. You don't believe my results yet you expect me to believe your bullshit.
Also why aren't you running occt? Afraid your shitty rosewill psu will blow up?
>>51893137
Yeah Im sure you need MLG Corsair 1200 Niggawatt and memesoftware to run Titan X sli.
Ten cents have been deposited to your bank accoun
>read reviews
why the fuck I need then when I have 860i and 760i here in my room and neither one has ever been close to max not even with Burntests or Furmarks and both Titan Xs overclocked?
>>51893175
Look, it's simple: install occt, run the psu test, report back the results and admit you're wrong with pride like a man.
It shouldn't take you more than a minute to download and run it and peek under your desk to check the reading. Or are you just lonely and want somebody to talk to?
>>51893210
>install this program that is somehow more accurate than APC server UPS
hihi lmao dude
i literally don't draw more than 650w (under extreme stress) with 2x titanx +i7 here >>51882546
>>51893210
it takes more than a minute cuz im moving as we speak
Anyone want a corsair 25% off with free shipping. Cause fuck my country

>Where do the drives plug in?
They're in the ODD cage with an adapter
>>51892995
not him but it's 1600MHz because of double data rate
speccy only reports half for some reason

Suggestions on wire management?

>>51892995
>>51895929
It's because speccy reports actual MHz, not MT/s. DDR modules run half of their stated speed on the package, but transfer data twice per clock cycle (hence the name, Dual Data Rate). Blame shitty marketing for calling MT/s MHz.
>>51864887

its ebin, my 290 never goes above 53°C @75% fan speed (furmark load)

What's so bad about the dOOOL?
pls no bully, my 1st build and 1st guts
>>51898535
Even though I'm currently running pretty much solely custom builds, I still love the SFF prebuilts. They're so cute and have some neat features, like this Thinkcentre with its toolless mounts.
Hold on to your buts

My build also has HyperX memory and I even made sure the text on the cooler would be the same way around as the text on the ram sticks
Do you guys usually reinstall windows when changing drastically different motherboards?
>>51904248
I just reactivate, the automated phone service is quicker than a reinstall, even more so when you factor in reinstalling programs and setting everything up.

Hi /guts/!
>>51906115
Forgot pic..
So I bought my case and went for my first test fit, I've got a 960 and a modular power supply coming tomorrow, so that should get rid of the spaghetti.
Going to take everything out and paint the internals black sometime soon, do you guys think it would look better black?
Also I need some advice for cooling, I want to have the case as stock looking as possible, currently the only thing that hints at good guts is the thumbscrews and you can see the noctua fan from the back in the whole where the psu is supposed to go. I'm thinking ill cut the underneath of the bezel out and put mesh in there as well to mount a 120mm on the front, and ill cut a hole to mount a 120mm on the bottom of the case under the gpu since I won't be using SLI anyway.
Also, is it possible to buy USB 3.0 front headers? currently it has usb 1.0 not even plugged in since it has the same kind of plugs as the power button and power light. Would be nice to get front usb 3
>>51906128
what GPUs?
>>51907082
oh and does anybody know where i can buy one of those right-angle low-profile psu cables? And if I can buy those extension psu cables or do I have to make my own? I need to get those 5.25" bay covers back on to hide the psu

Nah, you're just a dipshit without any sources. Post your watercooled setup, friend.
First time posting, first build. Did I do ok /g/? Graphics card comes over the weekend, a GTX 950.
Case was only $20 at microcenter. I know it's not the greatest but I think it's ok.
