I have an asus eee PC 1201HA and I'd like to use it mostly to read documentation and to maybe do some programming although not as my main programming platform, essentially I want an auxiliary computer

what OS do you recommend that is light, minimalistic, but functional and also not a pain in the ass

Lubuntu straight away doesn't work so I don't know if any linux OS would work, basically the whole screen is blurry because apparently the drivers aren't compatible

Windows 7, install every update except the windows 10 shit, then disable automatic updates, disable unnecessary services, BAM! Best battery life ever.

I have Lubuntu on an eee pc 1015pem and a 1015pn

werks great

I tried to boot into my win 7 starter partition on the pn earlier this morning but somehow the "update windows" settings magically got turned back on and the sneaky fucker managed to download and install 9 of them before I caught wind of it and disconnected from wifi. fuck that noise
