The HP Spectre tablet mode is fine actually, and I own one with an i7. The battery life is stupendous. It's definitely on part with the XPS 15, I don't think that battery life on that laptop is by any means better. Also this laptop definitely kicks any other laptops' ass in terms of form and design quality. It's gr8 m8.
I use a Samsung Ultrabook and it feels pretty nice.

i've owned two different generations of macbook air (sb and haswell). windows performance on both ran as windows would on similar hardware. which should be fucking obvious since macbooks use off fucking off the shelf pc hardware (intel cpu & gpu, samsung ram & ssd etc). the only reason windows eats battery life COMPARED TO OSX is because windows is garbage
