the laptop I do have is a thinkpad tablet I used when I was in university so the keyboard has decent travel and was a pleasure to use.

I use a desktop as my main machine, generic dell business keyboard.
>>
>>51850145
It can
>>
my thinkpad can do this stop living 5 years ago fag
>>
>>51850503
Then good for your thinkpad, computers that can't do this are living 10 years ago

I have an actual keyboard and it can do that. Still I have a properly lit room and even if I do use it when I just have a lamp on I use minium settings because it doesn't bleed through like yours.

Is that from poor quality control?
>>
>>51850608
Even my dick can do it. Suck it, faggot.
>>
because i know how to type in the dark
>>
>>51850723
thats not an actual keyboard, its missing to many keys. its a glorified videogame controller.

>>
>>51850875
>not using num pad
srsly?
>>
>>51850875
this is what gaymers actually believe, so much to the point they will actually pay more for less keys
>>
I've never understood keyboard backlights. Are they just for those people who need to look down to find the next key?
>>
>>51850145
do what, take pics? It can.
>>

>>
>>51850854
you are posting a macbook keyboard and think you could point out what a proper keyboard is?

I hope you are on drugs while shitposting.

my computer is there for processing. If i need light i just make a lightbulb glow.
>>
>>51850145
My Toshiba laptop can do that, most laptops have Backlit keyboards, do you live under a rock

Why do you need a backlit keyboard, you retarded piece of shit? Do you look at your keyboard when you type? Are you seriously this much of a fuckup?
>>
>>51850723
Have you ever considered learning how to touch-type, you absolute fuckup?
>>
>>51851040
What if you're doing an installation or something and there's a pop-up that says "press any key to continue"? How are you supposed to search for the "any" key for a few minutes before realizing there isn't one?
Surely you're joking.

It can but it's a feature I've never really needed since I can touch type.
>>
My keyboard can do that... And the color can be chosen from a 256 color palette for each of the three sections if the board.

You're 7 years too late to be technologically superior, anon.
>>
>>51850145
Look, son. It's bait
>>
it's a $60 option i didn't feel like taking

better question is why did the standard become black keys with white text?
that's much more difficult contrast in low light than lightly colored keys with dark text
>>
>>51852521
You can't rely on a backlit keyboard and still use the term "technologically superior" in any context. It just simply doesn't work that way. Everyone posting their flashing retard gaymer keyboards is just parading their stupidity.
>>
Even an overpriced Alienware piece of shit is preferable to a MacBook
>>
>>51852555
>that's much more difficult contrast in low light than lightly colored keys with dark text
That's actually the opposite from the truth.
>>
>>51852593
by what logic?

lighter keys reflect more light

one of my laptops can, another one of my desktops can, on my main desktop i don't need it, on my other laptops i don't need it either since they have that thinkpad meme lamp and i rarely look at my keyboard when doing normal stuff anyway

>>
>>51852625
You need the key symbols to reflect more light. That way you only focus on the letter or symbol and not the whole key, which results in less searching and less eye-strain. This is true for webpages and keys as well, specially in low light environments.
But you people should really try to learn how to touch type. This type of thread only shows how low /g/ has fallen in recent years.
>>
>>51853044
Not that anon, but I can type at ~90wpm (I haven't taken a typing test since high school, I can't imagine it has changed much) but I always get lit keyboards because better visibility is literally always a good thing. I can't think of a single time where the keys lighting up has made the experience worse, but it has made it better in select circumstances. Why not go for it?
>>
My laptop does have a backlit keyboard.
>>
>>51853044
>You need the key symbols to reflect more light.
the legends reflect very little light, the silhouette would be better, in my mind
>This is true for webpages and keys as well, specially in low light environments.
so you believe e-readers in dark environments should be inverted?
you could try taking apart a cheap calculator and flipping the polarizer film and see why this is a mistake
>But you people should really try to learn how to touch type.
light keys would be an advantage to this, lets you more easily glance as the layout of the keys so you know where to put down your hands
handy because there's so little uniformity for the bumps on f and j across different laptop keyboards
>>
>>51853287
>so you believe e-readers in dark environments should be inverted?
That's what I do.

I've got that thing's baby brother. no complaints yet, other than the built in volume switch being unresponsive for about 5 seconds.

I have a saitek keyboard that has a backlight

I'm going to change it to purple right now :3

I have a Logitech wireless KB that lights up when my hand hovers over it. It's amazing!

Also my Windows PC can run more than 5 decent games. Hell a Linux PC has more games than a Mac!

>>
>>51850145
It can, but why it should? I never turn on my keyboard's backlight, because:
1. I'm heterosexual
2. I'm not retarded
3. I touchtype, so I don't need it.
>>
>>51856476
got similar keyboard in very similar condition and similar friends telling me similar things
>>
If I needed it I would've bought one, but I can type without looking at the keyboard, like anyone on /g/ should be able to and if there's a character I only use every once in a few months, I'm probably not using my computer in the dark.
