How bad did i do ?
>>51848131
Looks good to me.
People may give you shit for the Seagate HDD though, but I don't think there's as much difference with reliability today as it used to be.

>paying £540 for a 980 Ti months before it gets keked by the 1070
Bloody giggling my rump off old chap.
>>51848131
Pretty good combination. Consider getting a 650W PSU instead of the 550W one, the price won't be that different but you will have a larger buffer. You can calculate your power needs in the link below, I got about 85% estimating your set up on a 550W PSU

Also 16 Gb ram might be more future-proof, although you can obviously always add more later

No, but spending $30 on a hard drive in a $1200 build is pretty retarded. 980ti and no ssd?
is this a meme build?
or a solid 1k$ build?

>>51848521
Meme build. No reason to use an AMD processor in an expensive build.

>paying 100$ more for the meme cpu

Either get an 8320 and overclock it, or get an Nvidia processor, like the i5-4690 for 50 bucks more
>>51848638
*paying $50 more for a cpu that demolishes it in ipc and still comes out faster with only 4 cores

change mobo to z170A krait.
>>51848675
why?
>>51848131
>get a bigger ssd
>better case
Otherwuse gg

You can do an ITX build for like 30 more if that's something that interests you, but otherwise it looks alright. If I were you, though, I'd either get a beefier cooler or get a non-K part. I'm not sure it's worth buying an enthusiast overclocking platform with an average cooler like that.
>>51848805
I am interested, tell me more.
Btw, not sure if 980ti is really worth it as im going to use my 1080p Dell screen for gaming, im mostly working and studying on it.
>>51848920
on 144Hz its definitely worth it, if you don't care that much just get a solid R9 390 GPU 8320 CPU set up for 900$ or so and save your cash
Will a MSI GeForce GTX 980 Ti Overclocked Graphics Card work in a dell XPS 8500?
>>51848970
Im on 60Hz, dont feel like i need much more, just want to play on decent setting for another 2-3 years.
>>51849016
>XPS 8500
as far as Im concerned there is only 460 watts power supply in that dell so I don't think its gonna handle it

Lol. yeah, you could definitely get a less powerful GPU. Maybe even a 960, I'm not sure how much power is ideal for you. It'd definitely be worthwhile to look at saving some of your budget for something else, like a controller, a new headset, things like that. Hell, maybe even a new chair, you know? I keep seeing those Maxnomic Dominators and they look like really comfortable, durable chairs, but they're damn expensive. I don't think you can save enough from changing graphics cards to get a Dominator, but it's something to think about, I guess.

Well maybe in 2-3 years you will need the 980ti for ultra settings on that set up with a small number of games, but r9 390(x) should suffice for high to ultra settings even then on the vast majority of games
>>51849055
I'm upgrading the power supply to a 750w
>>51848458
Did you even click on the link, retard?
>>51848131
See if you can get the blackout version of the R4. If not, it's fine.
Get a 970 instead of the 980ti. I run 1440p no problem on mine. 4k just isn't worth it yet. I'd stick to 1080p until next gen.
Swap the crucial for a samsung 850.
Up the PSU to 650W
16 gb of RAM - g skill has lifetime warranty
>>51848131
Go 16GB of RAM just in case, everything else is fine. Also a more powerful PSU wouldn't hurt but 550w is enough anyway
What's a good Motherboard for an it 5930k?
Not used to Intel CPUS, coming from an FX 8350

>Buying K version skylake when all skylake chips can be OC'd with BCLK.
>Buying gaming motherboards that provably have higher failure rates than their nongaming counterparts.
>Buying a seagate drive without mirrored RAID.
>Buying 980ti when you probably don't have a 4k monitor and a 970 would be just fine.
>Buying needlessly expensive case.
>Buying non Corsair brand PSU.
