Razer switches are better than rubber dome, but you could get a Cherry MX Blue mechanical keyboard for about the same price. Razer switchs are less consistent and wear out faster than their Cherry MX "counterparts" in my experience.

If you got it as a gift and didn't buy it yourself, you should be fine.

Whatever feels comfortable to you, my dad's a computer scientist and he uses browns, I'm getting into programming and I still like blues
The numpad is also preference but I can't live without one, makes data entry so much easier
