Windowless R5 just arrived (priority was silence). Over 15yrs since my last build. Good fucking god has things gotten easier. Why do pre-built PCs even exist?

For people who literally can't into lego.
Unfortunately, this being earth 2015, that is a large chunk of the population.
My next build is going to be an R5 with a bunch of additional sound deadening material and it's going to be delicious.
>>51838462

2x Intake
1x Exhaust
All 140mm, on 9v.
All the cooling you need, maintains positive pressure so the front dust filters do their job. Can go 7v if you want more quiet or 12v if you bought an R9 295X2
Enthoo evolv itx. Trying to find a decent price on a solid side panel to replace the window.
>>51838812
holy shit senpai that shit is tacky
Bitfenix Neos, non window version. Pair of Corsair SP120 purple LED fans at 7v as intakes, single stock Bitfenix fan at rear as exhaust. Extremely quiet, extremely cool, positive pressure plus dust filtered intakes make it extremely clean, and at £30 it's also extremely cheap.

Okay case for the price, but didn't meet my expectations. I would've been better off with the Define R4/R5
>>51839013
I got the last non-white 4 from PCCG.
Dat titanium
To be honest, spend the extra and get the R5. The nanoxias build quality is disappointing, power button snapped off it's mount with pleb amounts of pressure, the front door is held on with 2 tiny, tiny little plastic tabs, 1 of which broke off almost immediately. The fan speed controllers are useless, behind the motherboard tray is not thick enough for proper cable management and you need to get out a hacksaw if you want to fit a truly long card due to the way the hard drive cages are set up.
I'm going R5 with my next build.
>>51838467
i have had define r4 without a window for few years now, is it great then since it has no window?
How is the airflow in this case? It's one of the recommended on the wiki

I want a Fractal case, but it's hard to justify spending that much. It'll be more than 15% of my entire build. Like 25% including a decent PSU.
>>51839269
Save up more, it's well worth the cost. You'll laugh at all the plebs with inferior cases.

This. Nanoxia may sound and look good from specs alone and whatnot but their build quality is extremely subpar on things that reviewers don't even mention. Fractal Core 1000.
I still have my old R4 but it is just too large to kart up and down to university and to LAN events.
Wish I had chosen something else tho, it doesn't like having IO shields AND motherboards at the same time, so I had to bend a large part of the 5.25" drive bay out of the way, has absolutely no cable management space what so ever, airflow isn't the best. And it was only after I got a second 660ti to put in SLI that I realised that the side 120mm fan got in the way of the power connectors, so I've got the fan mounted to the outside of the case and had to break some of the mesh on the side of the case to run the cable... Can't wait till I get some more disposable income and can get a decent MATX case.

What bothers me about it isn't the strip itself; rather, it's the fact that it would break up if I decided to pop a DVD drive into there.

Children hide their 3DS because they're scared of being mocked by other equally immature children.
Children lie about their interests and views in an effort to acquire status and validate their identity.
Children are obsessed with stupid social games, because they don't have anything that actually matters to worry about. This largely goes by the wayside as responsibilities pile up and more substantial qualities such as one's career and how one treats others become prominent.
If you avoid buying something in an effort to validate your identity, you're a child.

>>51854400
It's okay. The space behind the back panel is extremely confined, the pictures are very deceptive of that. The case is also prone to vibrations stemming from the 5.25″ bay enclosure if you use top fans. I've tried Aerocool, Corsair and Noctua fans each causing the case to vibrate and emit an annoying noise from said vibrations involving the 5.25″ bay area. You will want a fully modular PSU for this case, you do not want any unused cables filling up the very little available space.

Your example is completely irrelevant to my point.
If you really want a dragon dildo (for whatever reason) but let "durrr durr, but how will other people see me" stop you from buying it, or if you turn to mocking people who buy them in an effort to prove to yourself that you're somehow better, you're a child.
On the other hand, if you don't want a dragon dildo because you're not into that shit, then obviously, it's a waste of money to buy it. Note that this doesn't inherently include announcing to the world that you're mature for not buying a dragon dildo.
Since I'm gathering that you're pretty stupid and probably won't understand how that applies to my earlier point without it being spelled out explicitly, this means-
Not buying LED-covered cases because you don't like them: Fine; obviously you should be fond of your chosen case
Not buying LED-covered cases because you think that this somehow makes you more mature, even though its completely detached from any meaningful qualities that signify maturity (responsibility, kindness, learning from experiences, etc.): You're a child
Mocking people who buy LED-covered cases in an effort to prove to yourself that you're somehow better: You're a child

Bruh how can you talk shit about my case like that?
Was cheap, has 230mm side intake, popout top vents means more room for a rad if you want to mount one.
Only downside is a full height internal drive cage and the side panel uses those shitty interlocks instead of a hinge or something.

Your house is a box that holds stuff, but most people don't really feel like living in a shanty.
Corsair 750D
Motherboard has red power, reset, post and bios lights. Apart from looking like 3 dots and 2 digits there is no light besides the gtx 980 text that I have set to get brighter as the temp gets hotter.

And even on this level, it's still not a great comparison.
Sex-related things are a bit exceptional in that they tend to make people very uncomfortable, and have a stronger sway on their opinion of you than what you'd normally see. I generally stand by the statement that you shouldn't actively hide your interests (note that this isn't the same thing as not knowing when to shut up about them, or being very loud in advertising them; scope and timing matter), and that's served me well when it comes to making friends, but your sexual fetishes are the one group of things that you should definitely keep to yourself and possibly your play mates (with the understanding that what happens in the bedroom doesn't leave the bedroom), and that includes not exposing your friends to it when they come over to your house. If you were worried about someone finding the dragon dildo, this is one of those very rare cases where I couldn't blame you for passing on it, since the threat of having your friends legitimately think less of you is very high.
On the flip side, I can tell you from experience that with the above exception, they don't care what you're into or what you have in your house. You might get some light ribbing, but that's not the same as rejection.
