p old/bad, right?

For basic tasks it's just fine.
I used to QTGMC deinterlace and x264 10 bit encode 1080p on an X2 5200+, and yours is 50% faster than that.
>>51829192
Mine is a little bit better.
>>51829301
Not really. His destroys yours single-threaded. Yours is only slightly faster if all 4 cores are loaded.
I don't know, I can't play any action-intensive class in team fortress 2 and it has gotten to the point where doing basic things like loading pages and watching youtube videos seems to be a strain on my computer as it takes much longer than it used to and seems to lag a lot. I wonder if it's not keeping pace with internet updates.
Or am I overlooking something? I use firefox and chrome. They're updated. I don't think it's a browser problem..

Damn... My best bet is a used 7850 2GB and maybe an AMD FX CPU (used, of course). Third world country...

Check temps
Make sure you're not loading 100 things on startup. (Or just clean install.)
>>51829615
Clean install my browser or os?
I msconfig'd so not too much begins at startup. I ran CCleaner too.
>>51829678
Sounds like your OS probably is fine.
Slowdowns can be caused by a failing hard drive. Check SMART data with CrystalDiskInfo.

I'm not sure how to read this information

You have sectors that went bad. That's not good.
If there's anything important on there that you don't have backed up, do so.
Scroll down to pending sectors.
>>51830080
I just read a bit on wikipedia about the error it gives me. Now I'm worried my hard drive is going to crash. Is there a way i can fix it??
Here you go>>51830202

Based helper anon, where art thou?

It could've been a one-time thing, or a sign of impending doom.
Backup.
You can try chkdsk /r. Just know that if your drive is dying this will sure as hell hurry it up.
>>51830247
crack it open and repair the damaged sectors with a large speaker magnet

> No discrete graphics card.

> It's a pre-built from a while back
This is about the computer in general, not videogames. Why would I go on v?

Do you know of any good guide to reinstalling Windows 7 on a new hard drive for if this one fails?
I figure I can just use the same product license as this computer but on a clean install.
>>51831758
Its easy. Just look up a guide on line.
Be sure to write down your product key before this one dies though.
You can find it in the Control Panel under System
>>51831758
Take out everything but the system drive, then boot to the DVD/USB.
Easiest will be to upgrade to 10 and just let the Media Creation Tool make your USB stick. You can use your 7 key.
>>51831828
* you don't have to upgrade to 10 to use the media creation tool, it will just install 10.

It's good for basic tasks. Gaming is not one of those, tf2 is no exception. Tf2 is poorly optimised anyway
