I'm trying to upload some footage to YouTube. But YouTube
Images are sometimes not shown due to bandwidth/network limitations. Refreshing the page usually helps.

I'm trying to upload some footage to YouTube.
But YouTube murders the quality.

I have started out with a raw AVI file recorded using MSI Afterburner, at a size of 14.3GB (360Mbps), .
I then use Sony Vegas 13 to make my edits and render the final project.

I've tried rendering using the following settings:

Audio: 448 Kbps, 48,000 Hz, 16 Bit, Stereo, AAC
Video: 60 fps, 1440x900 Progressive, YUV, 30 Mbps
Pixel Aspect Ratio: 1.000

Audio: 448 Kbps, 48,000 Hz, 16 Bit, Stereo, AAC
Video: 60 fps, 1440x900 Progressive, YUV, 135 Mbps
Pixel Aspect Ratio: 1.000

On both of these settings I've used the High profile and Best quality. They're also done at a 2-pass for maximum quality.

The final renders look good on PC, barely any degradation of quality. But as soon as they're uploaded to YouTube, the quality gets destroyed, even on the max quality setting at 60fps.

What am I doing wrong?

Got any better suggestions that aren't Premiere?

Also isn't that kind of irrelevant to the issue?
>>
Link to the vid, maybe it's your jewtube
>>
>>51827161
no, it is 100% related to the issue, you are exporting it in some dumb format and that is why youtube is going wild re-encoding it

just use premiere

>some dumb format

I used the link in: >>51827258
for all my settings.

MP4, Stereo, 48khz, Progressive, High Profile, 2 B frames, Variable bitrate, 60 frames per second, 448kbps audio.

Nothing wrong.
>>
>>51827604
Have you actually WAITED for youtube to finish reencoding?

It usually takes some time, right after an upload only the lowest quality is available.
>>
>>51827638
Uploaded 2 hours ago, I can watch at 720p in 60fps on Chrome and IE.
>>
>>51827234
>and that is why youtube is going wild re-encoding it
Look. A retard trying to sound smart.
It's completely indifferent the format you upload because Youtube ALWAYS reencodes the video. No matter how much you try to match the exact same settings Youtube uses, they always re-encode.
And Vegas is pretty awesome.
>>
>>51827051
What are you expecting? Youtube uses a very low quality encode so that people can actually stream it in shitty connections.
>>
>>51827671
It'll take about 5-6 hours for a file that large mate
>>
Max bitrate for 720p on youtube is like 5Mbps.
Scale your video to 1920x1200 and re-upload it to get the 1080p option (~12Mbps).
>>
>>51828642
I scaled it to that resolution, used 28mbps for a bit of breathing room, still looks like shit.

I'm going full placebo now, 240Mbps. My 1.5Mbps upload is going to make me cry,
>>
>>51830381
I am a fellow YouTuber, I use Sony Vegas as well. I'm not exactly sure why you think youtube does that to your rendering. Do you render it into a mp5?
>>
>>51830381
You know you're not going to get source quality out of Youtube no matter what you upload, right?

Its the one from 2009 and I paid £6 and I play it for easy mode.

looks like you're having a rec.709/601 issue along with whatever else.

get fucked kid

there is a reason i said 'going wild' and that is because he is using some dumb fucking retard program to export some stupid fucking format. not once is h264 mentioned or any other shit that would get it as close as possible.

there isnt any sympathy for someone using an antiquated piece of shit software that can barely export when there are better editing programs out there with actual professional grade exporting tools

Make torrent of source.

>>51830812
It's going to look like shit no matter what you do. Bandwidth and storage is expensive.

YouTube uses very low bitrates, like 3mbps for 720p and 5/6mbps for 1080p. uploading more than 10mbps for 1080p is unadvised at 25/30fps
You can upload any video you like at any quality, YouTube will re encode everything to stream it with less bandwidth.
Also
>1440x900@60fps recorded with MSI something
Nobody cares about your shitty gameplays

>Nobody cares about your shitty gameplays

I know they don't, it was a video for a friend hence why I didn't post a link once.
>>
>>51831219
Yeah, I came here to point out that no one is going to watch OP play video games anyway
>>
>>51831234
Tell him he has to consider himself lucky for the quality you posted on the previous png. The only way to actually watch a good and sharp footage from YouTube is to use a higher resolution, and let the client PC downscale it. If I have bandwidth I use to watch 1080p videos on the standard 1366x768 laptop monitor, cause 720p looks like shit. On a 1080p monitor you should watch 2k footage or more but you need good bandwidth and a good graphic card to downscale it.
That's it, that's how YouTube works, there's vimeo and its "HD" option that looks like a 720p with a better bitrate but I don't think he'd post a gameplay on vimeo

Hahahahaha guess you'll have to suffer with shitty quality and 7000 hours of post-processing because you could not successfully figure out the correct export settings from Vegas Pro.

Kek.

stop using 16:10 and go 16:9. I uploaded a vid in 1680x1050p60 and it gets scaled to 1280x720 and it ruins quality. So basically go for 720/1080/1440/2160 or gtfo
>>
>>51832134
I tried that, rendered at 1920x1080 and 1280x720 and there was a negligible improvement.
