I never see any good threads about speakers around here.
Let's have one, post your setups and tell others what you think about it.
On a side note I've been taking a peek at Soundplates, are they any good?
They would be ideal given the design of those things.
Onkyo is pretty good right?

When I have $1000 I spend it on my graphics card that's why.
I bought a pair of ELAC BS 263 for my desk because that's where I listen to music all the time.
So far I'm pretty happy with them.
I really like the design of them, and the sound is excellent.
They're powered by a Musical Fidelity M1PWR connected to an M1SDAC also by MF.
Kind of an overkill, but they seemed to be the best bet around the time where I got them price-performance wise.

If I wanted low fidelity coloured sound I'd just buy apple airbuds and EQ them

>bringing up headphones in a speaker thread
Funny thing, Tyll actually likes the earpods.

Speakers: B&W 685s2
Subwoofer: REL T5
Amp:Arcam A19
Dac: Schitt Modi
Headphones: Phillip X2
I would venture to say, I'm at the limit of what good listening is without venturing into audiophile placebo shit.
I also have OPs picture, for the money, they're pretty good.
