So a guy is trying to sell me an 980 for 350 but the exhaust pipe is bent? what are the cons for this?
>>51810903
Your GPUs heatpipes will be bent.
>>51810903
Looks like one of the GPU core's heat pipes is fucked. The card may run a bit hotter than usual.
"only" bending some part on your rig is a pretty hard thing to do
which means he probablt dropped the card
which means any other part can stop working anytime
DONT BUY
>>51810903
>what are the cons for this?
There's only one con and that's the seller.
>>51810903
I would say that is NOT good.
Worst case scenario, get a new new cooler for it. I would ask him to go lower or fuck it.
>>51810903
>exhaust pipe
lol
HOLY SHIT this is why parents shouldn't buy their kids $700 video cards.
you might fix that with a pair of needle nose pliers once the pipes warm up.
good excuse to get a liquid cooler block though.
>facing toward the motherboard
How does this happen?
>>51810963
underrated
>>51810903
How the fuck does that happen, did he drop it like a retard?
>>51810963
10/10
>>51810963
10/10
>>51811009
Probably failed to install it, went into an autistic rage and slammed it against a table edge or something.
stay the fuck away from that. card is all sorts of banged up. probably wouldn't buy that for a 100.
>>51811052
he said it was damaged from the shipping. Also thank you all for the informatiom
>>51810963
you clever, clever boy.
Tell him to take $135 more off it so you can buy a new cooling system, that is if the card still works.
>>51811088
If this was true he would have returned it
>>51810903
what happened to cause this torture?
>>51811261
he dropped it or purposely clamped down on it.
Wouldn't be surprised if there's more damage hiding under it, would not buy.
>>51810903
It's not an exhaust pipe, it's a heat pipe, it's not a fucking car is it? Do you think there's an internal combustion engine in there or something?
>>51810984
Made me wonder if one day we'll get GPUs with exhaust pipes that shoot out hot air.
>>51811312
I agree, a pre owned gpu like that is being sold for 2 reasons:
>needmoney.jpg
>Faulty/scam
>>51811088
>he said it was damaged from the shipping. Also thank you all for the informatiom
Sounds like bullshit, he would have rmaed
stay away from that shit
>>51810903
don't do it, he had to be pretty retarded to bend that, plus hes selling is so i wouldn't risk it.
>>51810963
this so hard
don't buy it for $350, evga sells their b-stock 980s for that price. considering the cooler is damaged as fuck this card is $250 at best
>>51810903
$350 for a fucked up 980 is a terrible deal. Try and get him below $300. And don't buy it unless you can run benchmarks on it to make sure the cooler still works
