Have you done this? I have a couple $10 t60's I'm not using. My ideal would be to run it as a wireless keyboard to for controlling a desktop. Could hopefully get some decent battery life (6-9 hours, enough for a workday) if you throttled/disabled everything down to the bare minimum required to poll for key input and pipe it out over 2.4Ghz

As a software developer who uses an HHKB 2 at work for 8-10 hours per day, that's bullshit. After you get used to using the Fn modifier, large keyboards start feeling annoying because of the increased travel distance. Reaching for the Fkey row on standard keyboards feels like taking a trip to timbuktu now.

I've got one of these, the rubber domes are responsive as fuck, no need for clickety schist
I used to use mechanical keyboards, like this Coolermaster one with MX blues then a larger version that was backlit with MX blues and then an IBM Model M duplicate with those buckling springs
But right now I just use the logitech K480 that is just a basic bluetooth keyboard and honestly I like it a lot more than I did the other keyboards, if it had backlighting it'd be perfect.
I don't really know what it is but Mechanical keyboards are a gimmick. I mean they're nice sure but people compare the cheapest possible rubber dome keyboards to the most expensive mechanical ones, and the K480 is a rubber dome but it feels pretty comfortable to type on and I'd say even more comfortable than anything I got from the mechanical boards.
