OS X will never have this feature.

I don't do media creation.

Tfw aplel shill incoming

What feature? Being insanely fucking bloated and slow?
>>51809266
OSX's terminal can clear all the scrollback.
and ubuntu will never let you use ctrl+c and v to copy paste
checkmate
>wanting that feature.
Ubuntu looks like plastic, it's a toy OS
>>51809766
Yes you can use ctrl+c and v to copy paste. I do it all the time
Honestly Mac OS's entire window system is dog shit and in need of a radical redesign.
Having all of the options in the menu bar is horrible for desktop usage, and in the year of our Lord 2015 Apple still has the worst window management system of any modern OS. In Windows 10 I can snap my windows into quadrants out of the box. In Linux (XFCE, Unity, Gnome 3) I can snap my windows into quadrants out of the box. In OS X 10.11 the only solution is 50/50 split with two windows in full screen mode.
Apple's solution to the disorganized chaos that is OS X is "mission control", which basically just zooms out everything to see what the fuck is going on with all of these windows scattered around because you can't put them where you want them to be.

The macfags on damage control are hilarious
>>51809840
It can't even copy/paste with middle click and make a window always on top.
>>51809769
>not changing the look of your desktop
There really is no hope for you
>>51809840
there isn't a lot of window management because multiple desktops exist on OSX
>>51809840
>Having all of the options in the menu bar is horrible
I miss this feature in Gnome. Global menu search is really great. Thinking of getting Unity for my Arch only because of this. However, something tells me it won't be such smooth as Gnome.
>>51809989
>not having great window controls AND workspaces.
Pleb
>>51809989
Multiple desktops exist on Windows and Linux (XFCE, Unity, Gnome 3) as well. They also have modern window management systems in place because they consider the needs of desktop usage.
OS X treats desktops like second class citizens.

why waste time perfecting a window manage suite when all I have to to is slide my hand across the trackpad and have a blank desktop?
>>51810103
>trackpad
So you've never actually used OS X on a desktop have you? Why did you feel the need to pipe in here?
>>51809266

canonical in charge of design
>>51810103
People do more than just look at a blank desktop all day.
>>51810161
you can use a trackpad for the desktop and I prefer it.
>>51810170
i didnt say they did
>>51810166
unity makes normal windows use the local menus and maximized ones use the top bar.
>>51809766
Shift ctrl works fine.
>>51809766
OS X doesn't let you do that since Super + C/Super + V are the commands for copy/paste :^)
Also ctrl + ins (copy) and shift + ins (paste) work on every OS since they're the universal keyboard commands for copy + paste. Ctrl + C/V are actually optional alternatives, despite how popular they are.
type 'clear' into the terminal
jesus christ this is beyond sad

It's because Mac fags don't care about this ancient way of using a computer. You can do everything with the GUI on OS X

Everything looking so stupidly unaligned just grinds my OCD, starting with having both a taskbar at the top and dock on the side. Just do one or the other, not both.
Though admittedly, it's still functional at least, OSX cuts valuable screen space in comparison by having the dock on the bottom.

The dock only appears on demand, or didn't they teach you that at troll school?

welcome to neo-/g/
>>51811192
I haven't seen the dock in a few years, I just set it to be on my secondary screen, autohide, and forgot about it.
>>51809918
Can you make a window always on top in windows?
That isn't meant to sound accusatory, I'm just wondering.

what? linux has plenty of DAWs.
