Can Android natively multitask like iPads?
>>51808327
google is planning to put that in the next version of android, im not sure if that is confirmed, but i heard about it in a AMA from the devs of the pixel C
>>51808327
Yea, my fucking 2014 S3 Neo can do it. Not sure about the S3 tho.
>>51808456
so right now iOS is superior right?
>>51808327
Multi tasking has been on android for a long time.
>>51808506
S3 can do as well
>>51808511
Android supports multi tasking without any problems for a long time now. Apple just caught up.
>>51808327
How would you even multitask when you're already using both hands to eat shit?
Who wants to bet that multitasking got delayed so they can figure out how to make it not work with youtube unless you subscribe to youtube red?

In terms of features:
Samsung Android > iOS > Stock Android
Plus the digitizer and stylus support on the Galaxy Note blows the iPhone 6+ out of the water. I don't think Apple even understands why the Note was so successful in the first place. They just made the iPhone 6+ a bigger iPhone 6 with no additional features that make use of that space.

Android has supported apps drawing over apps since version 3.0, which enabled third party multitasking apps.
Samsung has had a working implementation for years now.
>2GB of RAM required for multitasking
>Every single iOS device except the Air 2 has only 1GB
>b-b-b-but iOS doesn't need more than 1GB of RAM it's so optimized and efficient

Apple is very bad at planning ahead with anything they do. They put the absolute bare minimum required hardware in their machines in order to support the exact feature set available in that release, and nothing more. Every new iOS version has like 5 different change logs to specify what devices support what features, since only the latest device supports all of them.

I mean official stock multitasking
It was in the M preview, but it's been delayed to N
Stock android has it in beta.
>>51808779
>Apple is very bad at planning ahead
>implying it isn't just planned obsolescence at work
>>51808779
Apple gets a lot of praise for only including features when they're "good enough", which I think is a great philosophy. Unfortunately as you mentioned, they don't include the hardware to support future software features most of the time. So when a feature finally is ready, you need to buy a new phone to get it. Even though every other phone released the same year already has it, even if it isn't as polished.
>>51808327
Yes.
They could do it before IOS could.
>>51808327
Yep.

>Apple is very bad at planning ahead
they're actually really good at it.
how else are they gonna force people to buy their new hardware?

woah... the power of tablets and mobile devices
you can watch a tiny video that covers your browser on an ipad, or have two tiny shitty window on a phone
no wonder the desktop died!
>>51809292
Why is this allowed?
Is this fucking bait?
Why has nobody said Android multitasking has been around since the start, and iOS still doesn't have it (and they've said it will never come).
Everyone is actually talking about multi-window.
All this on my /g/. Fucking consumer retards.

Horee shet, it ain't even made up.
