>using Windows at all
right?

>Windows
That's Windows+NT.
I honestly don't know how anyone who uses Windows can claim that they're into technology.
>>51809350
Software isn't hardware.
>>51809350
linux is too much of a pain to use on my desktop everyday, mainly due to games
works just fine for my laptop though
>>51808281
It just werks.

>Switched to Windows-only after a decade of using Linux and dualbooting
>Don't miss anything so far
Until there's an Osu! Port for *nix O/Ss, I will be be forced to use Windows 7. Other than that it's all done in OSX or arch
honestly osx is the best operating system. windows is only good because everything commercial is made to work on windows.
linux is great for people that can live with the stuff that it doesnt have (most commercial software being the big one), but theres NO reason to not use OSX if you have the opportunity.
OSX is literally linux but better. its just the best OS currently available.

Would you rather me put blankets over the holes in my walls?

I can see what you're trying to say, but it's absolute crap. What Linux users value about Linux can't be done in OSX.
-Extreme portability. Runs on your toaster.
-build it as slim or as fat as you wish.
-modular: pick and choose your parts. There are alternatives for all system components.
I know technically Darwin is OSS, but honestly who here ever tried to fiddle with it and replace the Kernel shipped with OSX?
>>51809350
Lol, sysadmin here. I use Windows because IT is my job, not some lifestyle choice.
Stay salty.
>>51809350
I like to game and I like to code/be comfy. Fuck me for using a dual boot right?
>>51810074
i wish Win8 was like the older versions where it was very easy to make it dual-boot
i hate having to mess with the partitions manually to get linux on
>linux
>>51810469
dual booting fucking sucks. Who wants to restart their computer? I didn't ten years ago and I still don't want to today.
Just use vitrualization, and make sure you pick the OS that is actually targeted to run all the demanding shit (Windows) as your host OS
>>51808281
Ironically enough, until 2014 the system running control of US battleships was some special version of Win 98 and government paid millions $ to Microsoft for the exclusive support.
>>51810889
>98
FUCKING KEK
Doesn't the military have it's own special OS?
>>51808281
Give me Photoshop, Foobar2000, SPSS and ATLAS.ti for Linux or OSX please. Oh wait.
>>51808477
I think the term you're looking for is NSA/Windows.
