Antivirus software is literally useless.
The malware has to be analyzed and a signature created for it or the antivirus software will just see it as legitimate software.
Even a retard can write undetectable malware nowdays. All you have to do is google and follow step by step instructions or simply modify the source code of existing malware and you're all set.
Use a host based intrusion detection/prevention system if you want to be safe.
