could you check if you have any framebuffer device in /dev/? It can be in /dev/graphics. If so, please write /dev/urandom to framebuffer and tell me if your screen was temporarily filled with noise.
Just in case you aren't too much of a linux guy, i'm asking about result of those commands:
cat /dev/urandom > /dev/fb0
or cat /dev/urandom > /dev/graphics/fb0
I hope you'll have access fb0 without root permissions (or is it already 'rootable'?), but just in case i'd like to remind you that as far as i remember you can probably get root access from adb shell. Thanks in advance.
