Is there any better antivirus out there?
>>51801393
I use avira or avast, I forgot since they both start with Av and i don't stare at my tray all day.
Linux
I use Avast, just works.
Ignore common sense fags, they have no common sense if they think not clicking titties.mp4.exe is all you need in 2015.
If you're not retarded just use MSE. It's very lightweight and simple.

>titties.mp4.exe
my sides are in orbit
>>51801445
Avira pops up a box on every boot
(unless you prevent it by a simple hack)
If you need anything other than MSE due to retardation/carelessness then you'd be better off using Linux.
Common Sense
not clicking titties.mp4.exe is all you need in 2015.

Common Sense 2016 Enterprise Preview
Really surprising that any user on /g/ would need antivirus, oh wait they are a /v/ cross-poster.
Common sense.
>>51801393
Avast is alright.
Malware Bytes for backup.
No Script
Sandboxes
Virtual Machines
Common Sense is good, but for all /g/'s bullshit so many even legit websites and software can give you at least some little adware piece of shit its not enough.

Okay.
Some of us want to use software that's thousands of dollars, which isn't quite possible when you're struggling to get a job.
CommonSense™
>>51801393
Kaspersky. Qubos for hardcore. BSD for memes.
>>51801393
I use Windows Defender and once Malwarebytes to remove a bitcoin miner
>>51801714
Yo, >>51801462 here, who says I don't pirate software? I'm using Avast Premier with a key I got from KAT.
>>51801843
AVG did detect some severe malware disguised as a Windows process for me. No placebo.
Norton :^)
Gentoo
no really common since. you don't need a antivirus.
especially when you use free software :^)
>>51801462
This.
I tried common sense, got a boot sector virus.
All I use my desktop for is gaming so it's not like it's a download.
On the plus side, it's a happy virus and hasn't really done anything so far.
Kaspersky
Free Antivirus is shit
If you're needs aren't too specific, you can always try mssecure.
>>51801495
>>51801473
MSE is not nearly as efficient as the other free (as in beer) alternatives. MS said so. But with Common Sense 2017 rc1, I'd say it's enough.
Windows Defender with SmartScreen turned off (or whatever it's called)

>it's a happy virus
kek
G DATA. Quality from Germoney
It's a shame that AVG became fucking malware over time. It used to be the best but it's literally dog shit now.
And Avast is slow as molasses and bloated as all get out in my experience. I fucking hate it.
Just use MSE if you're on win7. 8.1 and 10 it's integrated into the OS as Windows Defender so that's good. Then just get MWB full and you're all good as long as you have the latest version of Common Sense to reinforce them both.
Y'all niggas over complicating shit.

I'm just waiting for it to fuck something up so I can reinstall windows, I'm overdue for a clean install, but I'm also too curious about this virus to just wipe it.
I use malwarebytes + common sense 2016
I did detailed research when I was selecting a free antivirus option. I went with Avast as I believed it was the best at the time. I've not need to use anything since, so I can recommend using avast.
Finally, when you download a file from the Internets upload it to virustotal.com and rescan it... just as a double tap.
>>51803281
This is a reasonable combination on Windows.
>>51803206
Where do I download Common Sense? Can't find it anywhere.
>>51801393
Avast has a silent mode, if you don't use it you get ads to buy things from them
OS X does not have this problem.
lol brain.exe ftw
Get Fedora, Linux Mint, Elementary OS, Ubuntu or Debian - Get a Winblows VM, install Malwarebytes and Panda. Backup the VM in case you get a virus you can just revert.

>>51805412
Probably? Us iGeniuses don't typically play silly games, but if something can be done on a PC, it sure as hell can be done on a Macbook.
>>51801393
KASPERSKY
Sure is a PAID application but you can always use a Trial resetter for the literal BEST AV out there.
