Why is it so hard for Apple to let users tint their screens red?

Why is it so hard for Apple to let users tint their screens red? How much 'innovation' and bullshit will they claim when they finally allow it? What sort of stupid name will the app/built in iOS feature they add in have? Guarantee you won't be able to just set it to a tint of your liking and everything will be automatic.

It lowers the amount of blue light you intake. Blue light inhibits sleep.

apple dev here.
we are introducing this feature in iOS 10.

it will be a switch in the menu next to the flashlight called "Reduce Eyestrain". unfortunately that's all i can say and still keep my job.
>>
Because it requires that a daemon be running in the background and aside from music players, all backgrounded apps are unceremoniously killed after being backgrounded for 10 minutes.

Also because it uses system APIs that apple obviously doesn't want third parties using quite yet.

Know what else helps sleeping at night? Not using a phone.
>>
>>51799508
Well let's see.

I can still use my computer without any issue when it's activated, and I'm actually pushing it to the max at night so it's as orange as my screen gets. My eyes are okay, actually they've never been as good.

If I deactivate it, it hurts my eyes at first, and while I get used to it, I'm getting tired again and keep blinking. If I reactivate it, suddenly it feels much more comfortable, and my eyes are fine again.

That's no accurate scientific method nor peer reviewed study, but still, it's not like I'm an isolated case, and I like it better that way. That's fine by me. I actually used to make fun of it like you. Then I tried it. Then I changed my mind.

I wouldn't go back, and actually I install it on any computer I run into and everyone thanks me.

what this guy said. It completely destroys how things look by making them just red. Even coding in my dark-as-my-soul-edgy-bullshit-editor sucks when everything seems a bit red.
Games? Oh no ahahahahaha
Last but not least image-editing. With flux that is pure bullshit.
So it seems flux is just for people who stare at their desktop wallpaper all day. Even this would make me fuzzy.

>>51800147
What do you guys take in your ass to write something like this. Bullshit xD I stay up until 3 am every day and go directly to sleep without having any problem. You guys better go see a doctor for your sleepingproblems.

>>51800474
I guess everyone has to publish something today...
>>
>>51801686
>That's no accurate scientific method
It's called placebo. Yes, your eyes hurt if you look into something bright after looking at something dull for like hours. No shit.
>>
>>51801724

Its not placebo. Reducing blue light is proven to work, since blue light decreases melatonin secretion. Even on ISS they make the LED lighting redder as night approaches.
>>
>>51801724
>It's called placebo
Placebo is something that doesn't effect what is studied but nonetheless causes a positive effect caused by internal, human factors. Which means, placebo works. So well maybe it is placebo, but then I'll keep using it regardless.

Now indeed, looking at something bright after looking something dull hurts, but then looking at something dull thereafter feels better. There is clearly an improvement in this other case, as well as long term effects.

But then if you like science, maybe you could look into what ophthalmologists and optometrists have to say on the subject of blue light: it's the main factor in glare, it hurts your retina and is the main cause of macular degeneration. Or maybe what hypnologists have to say about the effect on your circadian rhythm, which is easily disrupted by intense expose to blue light.

Blue light is bad for you anon.

I'm 2 days in no-flux after 1 year of using flux. Doesn't really have an impact on my sleeping patterns. Not that it was working properly in the first place.

Granted I don't really use my pc in pitch black.
