Which is der ultimative processor?
Which one is the best?
Are they all future proof to work with future graphics cards to display 4K High Dynamic Range Virtual Reality @ 120Hz per eye?

5820K master race.

More dependant on the gpu but pretty much. They're all good. Just a dick waving contest for the most part. Sure hyperthreading and more cores but not a noticeable improvement for gaming.

Processors are progressing MUCH, MUCH more slowly than GPUs right now. Chances are any of those processors you named would be satisfactory for at least 5 years to come-- if not 10. 5960X is playing it the absolute safest with 8 physical cores for future applications. However, the new Broadwell-E chip line comes out in 4 months and will have a 10 core/20 thread Xtreme chip at the $1000 price tag. I would wait for that.
If you are just gaming, a 6700k.

Thank you!

>1000
>I would wait for that
Pffft
>>51799252
Idiot, the current chips are @ $1000 as well.
>>51799260
yeah its about 500 too much
>>51799298
Fuck i'd say 600.
AMD has had 8 cores for years :^)
>>51799215
>paying that much for a CPU
I hope you're going to keep it for the next 15 years pfft hahahaha you won't even use that much power in it's life time. It will die before you do. Nor will any game use that much.

Have you read the OP? A chip for futureproofing 4k/8k VR HDR @120 HZ per eye.
