I've even recently started to play the youtube video with increased speed and then slow the recording down again in windows movie maker, so I can get my videos in shorter time.

This program suck, trust me I've used it thoroughly and even bought a copy. It will take forever to convert your youtube link into the actual download link and if you try to download playlists it will kill your inter connection just about every single time. Also the download speeds could be a whole hell of a lot better. Get >>51794175 instead.

I use a plug in my Firefox browser which works perfectly or for batch jobs I use YouTube.dll which not only downloads videos it also wraps them up and ties them in a pretty bow for you, however, that one requires some typing so is beyond the capabilities of a lot of youtu.be users.
