Who Model M here?
This is my work keyboard, I have one at home as well.
Why doesn't anyone else besides M clones use buckling springs?
I tried a cherry key keyboard the other day, and I don't see the point. Mushy keys.

unicomp owns the patent to buckling springs
>>51790343
i have got that same model!
DIM5 cable to PS/2 to USB master race!
got a model M too. great for OSX

Unicomp owns the patent I think.
But let's be realistic here, they are loud as fuck and too hard for most people, buckling spring will never be a mass market switch again.

Damn shame. Their keyboard quality is shit. key caps arnt even swappable.
I must have bought 4 Models M so far. Ruined 2. They do not like water.
Anyone have a way to take them apart, and put back together? I saw the directions that requires you to tap and install machine screws, but you need two different kinds of taps, and they are like $15 each.

Nice dubs, model F owner
Yeh I use my IBM M2, I see your viewpoint with it making modern mechs seem squishy but w/ tactile switches you can certainly go much faster than buckling spring switches. On the other hand since you have to press buckling down so hard you're less prone to mistakes.
