I got beer in my build, it will not turn on. Absolutely no reaction.

I can clearly see corrosion on a small part of the motherboard, I think the liquid did not get anywhere else.

My question is:
What parts of my PC are likely broken (or probably not affected)?
Will replacing the motherboard be enough?

You fucking retard I hope it is broken
>>

its hard to tell what the fuck im looking at. Is that a PSU and the out take fan? or just the bototm of the case and the gpu? Take a bigger picture. Also it will most likely be fine as long as you dont give it power. Let it dry and then try it. If you tried turning it on while beer was in it then your fucked, because iot most likely shorted. Im guesisng a new motherboard/ whatever part its on will be needed.

Take it all apart
Blow away dust with compressed air
Clean everything with isopropyl alcohol
Let it dry
Reassemble

Water getting in turned it off, therefore turning it on makes no difference.
>>
>>51786815
Pretty much dissolve the board into isopropyl alcohol, dry it with a hairdryer (I did this countless times with 100% working motherboard rate) and then test.
>>
>>51786815
You probably shorted something out, dry it out and wipe away any residue you can see and it will likely turn back on.

I spilled a whole glass of water on my desktop and just waited a few days for it to dry, and it turned back on just fine.

Sorry, it's an ITX board, and that massive thing is a 14mm dual tower cooler. On the left side you can see the back of the GPU.

This is a closeup of the part of the Mobo that got wet. Notice the rust and some other corrosion.

I have taken it apart completely. No more wetness. Will try cleaning it with alcohol.
>>
>>51786815
Should have gone with a Mac, anon. They're water proof.
>>
Spray some WD40 on that bitch.

I thought that caused the problem in the first place:
>I got beer in my build
>>

STOP ABUSING ALCOHOL
>>
Basically if you turned it on without letting it compleatly dry for days you fucked up.

It should be 3-5 days minimum. 7 days minimum if you live in a very humid area.

Go to your pharmacy and get the 93%+ iso from behind the counter, the less water the better, some carry 99%

Thats your fucking lesson for drinking alcohol, sick fuck.

It's not the drinking of the beer that's the problem. It's being a sloppy drunk and spilling it on your sensitive electronic equipment. There's also the matter of mistreating beer... This should never be done. Beer should be treasured, valued, and taken care of.

Alright, I'm thankful for your answers you have helped me alot!

Now, I must conclude my motherboard is boken beyond repair.

BUT, are there other parts of my PC that might be affected by a short in a small part of the mobo?!

Could the application of current to the device, while a conductive fluid got on to the motherboard, have irreperably damaged other components?

I am grateful for your assistance.

Had something similar happen with a water bottle and my cat once. The mobo is probably fucked but everything else should be fine.
