The point isn't really that you can't cover the vent and use it like a normal PC. It's more that its thermal design was such that if the vent was blocked for 3 seconds, it would overheat.
Anything consumer computer that overheats because it doesn't get 3 seconds of airflow is not well designed.

No, what happened is that Steve Jobs died. Look at Macs, we haven't seen a truly original design since the 2010 MacBook Air, while in the 2000s every two or three years we had new, original designs. Same with iPads. The Watch is probably the ugliest, thicker smartwatch out there.

Everything went wrong when apple stopped plagiarizing braun's designs and tried to do it themselves. The only thing apple has ever been good at is stealing someone else's product and slapping a logo on it.
