My ssd just arrived. I did a quick speed test and it wrote 20gb in just a couple of seconds. Installed OS and a few programs and it's already at 100gb on my first day of ownership.

Sad thing is you have no idea when it's gonna fail, it depends on how much you use it. So yes, use it for your OS only. Keep files you actually care about (personal media, savegames maybe) on a good ol' HDD.

I am also using it as a scratch disk in Photoshop and After Effect as well.
HDD is for data that is written/read sequentially. Downloads in general, videos, music and other large files.

Run your games from the SSD. You only need a couple installed at any one time. When you are done with a game uninstall it and stop hoarding for no reason.
