those fags should get a real job and stop begging for money

how about i continue to use adblock, keep my money in a useable form (aka not bitcoin) and not pay to look at someones shitty blog?

This is actually a pretty neat idea. I support it as long as you can close the pop-up.
>>
>>51773037
>A new solution to Internet ads found
Nope.
The solution is very simple.
Split the revenue between the ad host and the ad target. That is the real solution.
>>
>>51773101
>no more TV
>no more radio
>no more free games
>no more quality internet content

k.
>>
>>51773037
Fair enough, but I only support it if donating a penny blocks the popup for at least a day. I'm not a Jew, I can donate a dollar's worth of pennies every month if it means no ads.

Good. Instead we will get more services like Netflix.

>no more radio
How do you adblock radio ads?
Who even listens to radio stations with ads?

>no more free games
Yes. Since there wasn't any free games before they realized you could slap a bunch of ads in it.

Hell, with shit like digital distribution getting so big and easy good free games are becoming a rarity.

>no more quality internet content
While there's some truth to that. There is plenty of great internet content that isn't supported by ads.

What stops me from just blocking this too?

I imagine they're at least making some kind of attempt to make this replacement ad difficult to block, otherwise it wouldn't require a dedicated repo.

Is there an example page using this?
>>
>>51773485
>I imagine they're at least making some kind of attempt to make this replacement ad difficult to block
They can try, but they will fail. Do you think ad companies don't try to make their ads hard to block? If Google can't make an unblockable ad, why could these people manage?

netflix. Tv is going through a renaissance because cable can't make money shoveling shit for ads-all the money is in getting subscriptions to a hit show you can marathon now.
>>no more radio
The podcasts and radio stations I listen to have brief sponsorship sections in their programs, and sell merch. I've found a few things I like that I've paid money and make sure i tell them where I learned about their product for, and I buy their merch, so no.
>>no more free games
Bullshit. It'll mean less shit-tier games that sell space in them for ads.
>>no more quality internet content
kek.
>>
i have literally zero interest in the stuff being advertised, and i just want to be able to browse in peace. and i have a job so i don't need the extra money. the whole thing is a pointless solution to a non-existent problem.

just use paywalls. that way all unwanted content will diminish from the web, because there's no reason putting an effort into something people aren't willing to pay actual money for

You mean that shit I abandoned 5 years ago because content providers got the balls enough to try and show me 5 minutes of a show then switch to 6 minutes of commercials?

Radio will always be around seeing as its cost to run is substantially less and therefore they have a lot less ads. My local stations plays music for an hour straight and then does maybe 6 minutes of commercials total in one run.

How about i get Bitcoin every time I block an ad?
>>
>>51773431

But then Apple would rule the world. We'd have Internet freedom outside of Facebook but no one would be able to buy a phone or a computer for less than $800 since all the other competition is bankrupt except Microsoft.

That's straight up dystopian if you ask me.
>>
>>51777981
that's what i was thinking. if instead of using ads on your page. the site you run uses your visitors' CPU to mine bitcoins. like, using a script. and therefore the site's bandwidth is paid. of course only works on decent computers, but with all the intel I3,5,7 and Athlons around that does office stuff, that could be interesting to exploit the gigaflops of these machines.

otherwise, winning money by blocking ads, i know that would make us rich. i just have no idea how.

Non-american here. Can anyone explain to me what's the deal with Netflix? Why is it better than cable TV?
>>
>>51778837
Tons of movies and TV shows available to stream anytime from any device. Not only do you get access to normal content, but you also get access to Netflix Originals, which are Netflix produced series or movies which you can't get elsewhere (without downloading, that is).

You get all this for a cheap price per month, it pales in comparison to the cost of buying a cable subscription (albeit it has less content, but then again you can just download what Netflix doesn't have).
>>
>>51773368

I think I just came in my pants, that would be awesome
>>
>>51778997
And how are the cable companies fighting it? Competitive pricing?
I don't know how the ISP subscription works in america, but around here getting internet almost guarantees you a cable TV connection too. You have options without cable TV but what you save is almost always just 2 or 3$ and not worth it.

Great plan to save us from ads -- put all the good sites behind pay walls and turn the free internet into a wasteland of mediocrity paid for by entertainment ads.
I'd rather be sold products and have my entertainment be free, thank you very much. Ads for content are fucking annoying. Teasers and trailers are almost universally shit.

Internet won't die you retard
The ad agencies will change their policy by paying per ad view instead of per banner click or something.
Do your really think these advertising leaches are that feeble? No they're persistent as fuck, advertisements are a huge gold mine, people pay millions for their products to be advertised. Ad agencies will just come up will new ways to display their ads on websites.
It's more than likely that as ad blockers rise, ad agencies will form a partnership with operating system companies to display unblocked ads
>>
>>51780130
If the only way a site can survive are ads then it's shit and deserves to die
Yes, that includes 4chinks
>>
>>51780517
Don't bother, most of these fags don't remember a time where internet existed without ads. I mean, they seriously think no ads being shoved in people's faces at every corner means societal collapse.
Online ads really need to die so that shitty sites that rely on them the most like Facebook, Instagram, etc become unsustainable, fold and thus make most normalfags leave and condemn the rest to pre MySpace days. It would probably change smartphone drastically by stripping them of all the instant selfie bullshit.
Possibly the most significant loss would be YouTube and that's it.
>>
>>51773368
>google dies
No problem there.
>>
I am not bothered about ads as long as they don't force a popup. I am more bothered about privacy. I would pay Google using Bitcoin just to get rid of logging etc. Yes I know there is disconnect and duckduckgo etc but they are not as good.
