I don't because it's all so politically-charged now. Its all "We need to stop [SOPA iteration 234893798273]!!!" or "IS SNOWDEN A TRAITOR?!?!?!". Not to mention none of this applies to people living outside in the US (infact TPP being passed in the US and UK would be a good thing for the internet).
I just subscribe to the security mailing lists and bullitens for the software I use, that's it.
